I don’t think I even have enough words to express my appreciation and love for Savannah and all the guides with Space Below Your Feet. I went from never climbing outside before to feeling so comfortable and excited to try various routes and I’m afraid I’ll never be able to quit now. Savannah had the whole trip planned out perfectly to every last detail, including scheduling our covid testing and guiding us with the new international travel procedures. Savannah and Gen felt like old friends, so encouraging and helpful, I never felt intimidated or excluded when I was the newest and least strong of the group. It was just the best trip and experience. I am already planning to book as many more guiding trips as possible with them this year. If you want a great guide and amazing experience you have to contact Savannah.
This trip to Mexico was my second trip with Space Below Your Feet. The guides are not only very knowledgeable and professional, they also feel like they’ve been your friends for years! I felt safe, comfortable, and STOKED with all of them; the group dynamic is amazing. They work with every experience level and listen to what you’d like to learn; it’s like having a personal coach for 5 days straight! I can’t recommend this group of ladies enough. I can’t wait for future trips!

How fit do I need to be?
If you can climb a ladder, you’re good to go. Being in good shape is always a plus but far from necessary. Rock climbing is all about using good movement techniques rather than muscling up a cliff using brute strength. To ensure you have a fun day, your guide will choose routes that best suit your skill and fitness level.
What if I’ve never climbed before?
El Potrero Chico has plenty of options for beginner climbers. Whether you’ve never climbed before or are transitioning from the gym to outdoor climbing, your guide will customize the day to suit your skill level and objectives. The only thing you need is good fitness, endurance, and some enthusiasm! With a guide by your side, you’ll learn something new, stay safe on the rocks, and most importantly, have fun!
For intermediate to advanced climbers, El Potrero Chico has loads of routes to spend the day on. Your guide will discuss your objectives and customize the day to your goals. Let your guide plan the day so you can focus on developing your skills while climbing the classic routes or best hidden gems the area has to offer.

Getting there and meeting location
To get to Rancho El Sendero where you will be staying, most people fly into Monterrey International Airport. From there, you are an hour’s drive away from Rancho El Sendero. You can rent a car or take a shuttle service to get to the ranch.
Once you and your guide agree on the details of your itinerary, your guide will suggest the best place to meet, whether that’s at the guide shop or a predetermined location. The guide will choose the appropriate terrain dependent on conditions and the ability of the group.
