The area around the Alpine village of Verbier is a mountain biker’s dream. Countless trails for intermediate to advanced skill levels, piercing blue lakes, cottage-dotted hills, crisp Alpine air—it’s like stepping into a postcard. We fell in love with this area when we came here for a short trip 20 years ago, and we’ve called it home ever since. As the snow starts melting every spring, an unreal network of trails emerges. Trails for intermediate bikers, trails for serious mountain bikers hungry for a real challenge. Come here for a few days or a week—we’ll take you to Verbier’s best-ofs, use local lifts to get high up in the mountains, and zoom down thrilling trails. The grass really is greener here in Switzerland. But you’ll see that for yourself once you come here for your MTB vacation.
Regardless of the trip duration, you’ll get the same things: accommodation at a chalet, all meals, expert local guides, lift passes, transportation during the tour, and more. This is a week-long getaway to Verbier, perfect for those wanting to take their time and truly take in the beauty of the Alps. We’ll stay at a gorgeous chalet in the mountains, have an in-house chef, and we’ll take you to the most spectacular trails of Verbier, totally tailored to your skill level.
This is what your week of MTB in Verbier could look like. Each week the itinerary will be adjusted to weather conditions and the riding level of participants. You can expect 5 riding days.
Make your way to Verbier, you can check into the chalet from 4 pm onwards. Settle in, meet other guests at the chalet, make sure your bike is all set, and enjoy your first delicious dinner!
Let’s go for a warm-up ride in Verbier. We’ll be using lifts to go from 900 m (2,950 ft) to 2200 m (7,220 ft). From here, we’ll traverse or climb higher to a beautiful single trail to get used to the altitude and the trails of Verbier. We use a perfect mix of the bike park and natural enduro trails, so everyone has the opportunity to ride at their own level. We’ll give some riding tips and show you all the best photo spots! Depending on the level and speed of the group, we can do several uplifts per day. There is always the option to climb even higher, but the lifts in the area offer plenty of options and access to the best trails in the area.
We’ll use this day to do some shuttled rides in the Verbier area and further up the valley: Pas du lin with its beautiful loamy, and sometimes technical, terrain. We’ll be passing by some old mines and finishing with a roller coaster trail on a location that not many people know of. The second shuttle will take us to a beautiful place we call Little Canada, with a beautiful lake and a flowy and long descent back to the valley.
We’ll be riding around Verbier once again, utilizing the lifts. Today we’ll be stepping up our game, find more demanding trails, and challenge everyone to do their best.
Today we’ll explore wonderful trails in the Rhone Valley. We’ll use our shuttle to get to other lifts that can bring us to beautiful riding areas such as Crans Montana, Leuk, Jeizinen or Lötschental.
Let’s end our week with a bang! Today we’ll tackle the other side of Verbier with an epic ride off the Col de Mille. Starting off with a shuttle, we’ll then have to cover around 800 m by riding and hiking. Beautiful traverses and technical descents are ahead of us—Verbier does not get any better than this. The other option is to do the Tour du Mont Fort, a big scenic tour with some easier single trails around the 4 valleys, with a visit to the highest point of Verbier at 3,300 m. And then, a 2,000-meter descent follows! Finally, when we get back to the chalet, we’ll treat ourselves with a homemade pizza from our pizza oven.

MTB in Verbier is rated intermediate to advanced, which means that a great fitness level and previous MTB experience is required to participate. The guides will make sure that everyone feels safe and comfortable riding at their own level. So whether you’re an intermediate or expert mountain biker (or anything in between), Verbier has plenty of trails made for you.

If you’re a true MTB expert with years of experience and you look forward to pushing yourself on steep trails that are rooted, rocky, packed with jumps, drops, wall rides—MTB in Verbier is the perfect playground for you. Your guides will make sure to take you on the most beautiful and most difficult trails of the Swiss Alps!
All that’s required is that you are in control of the speed and handling of the bike on hilly terrain, and that you have intermediate or advanced MTB skills. You should also be able to pedal 2-3 hours for several days in a row, covering 20-30 km (12.5-18.5 miles) with 600 m (1,970 ft) of elevation gain.
Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:
Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.
If you’re coming to MTB in Verbier, your bike will need to be in top condition. A full suspension bike with 130 / 150 mm travel is required as well as gears suitable for steeps. It’s best to have the lightest gear you can find. On 2×11 set ups go for a 22 or 24 in front and a 42 on the rear cassette. When riding 1×11 or 1×12, a 28 or 30 set up in front (standard will be a 32 or 34 in front on most set ups) is recommended. You’ll definitely need those. When in doubt—the lighter, the better.
For tires, it’s recommended that you have a wider tire of a minimum of 2.3 with an all-round thread. Lightweight and narrow XC tires are not suitable. A dropper seat post is highly recommended or an easy way to lower your seat manually.
If you’d like to skip the hassle of bringing your own bike, you can rent one with your guides upon booking—and they’ll set you up with a standard bike (specialized StumpjumperAlloy), an e-bike (specialized Turbo Levo, Scott Patron 920), or a premium bike (Stumpjumper EVO carbon, Scott Genius ST 910, Orbea Occam SL M30, Santa Cruz).
Your guides pay special attention to food on this tour—and all meals are included! Breakfast and dinners will be enjoyed at the chalet each day and you’ll get a packed lunch to take with you every day. You’ll also have time to enjoy a cold drink or some snacks along the way. There will be an in-house chef at the chalet cooking delicious food with fresh produce!
Your guides will do their best to accommodate special dietary requirements, but please let us know what you need upon booking.
It’s recommended that everyone brings their own energy bars and powders, as you know best what you might need. This goes especially for people with certain allergies or intolerance.

To get to your MTB tour in Verbier, most people fly into Geneva Airport (GVA), which is 2 hours away. From there, you can take a train ride to Verbier. The train ride is incredibly scenic, it goes along the shore of Lake Geneva via Martigny to Le Chable train station. A bike in a box or a bag goes with you for free.
Your guides will welcome you at the Le Chable train station and take you to their bike chalet, which is where you’ll stay for the next 3 nights.
There’s also the option of your guides picking you up from Geneva Airport (and dropping you off at the end of the trip). Let us know if you’re interested upon booking.
Emergency medical insurance is mandatory. Travel and bike insurance are highly recommended.
With medical insurance, if you have an accident or medical emergency on or off the mountain, you’ll avoid paying out of pocket for costly expenses. This covers everything from hospital treatments to emergency air transportation and more. Travel insurance covers canceled flights, natural disasters and other scenarios that may interrupt your travel plans.
