  • For this Chamonix Valley e-MTB tour, participants should be capable of riding for several hours on hilly, unpaved terrain. The tour is suitable for beginner and intermediate mountain bikers, requiring the ability to cover approximately 20 miles (35 km) per day, with an elevation gain of around 1,600 feet (500 m). Riding an e-mountain bike significantly eases the effort, and a guide will always be by your side to encourage you, observe your technique, and ensure the pace is suitable for the group. The rides include frequent breaks, and a rest day is scheduled during the adventure.

  • Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

      • E-mountain bike — can be rented
      • 1 E-MTB battery (650 Wh capacity) — can be rented
      • 2 sets of riding or athletic clothing
      • Backpack large enough to carry the picnic and extra clothes (25 L capacity)
      • Water bottle or hydration bladder (2L capacity)
      • Sport shoes
      • Breathable jacket
      • Sunglasses
      • Water bottle
      • Leisure clothing for your free time and visit in Chamonix town
      • Regular mountain bike helmet
      • Biking gloves — strongly recommended
      • Flexible knee pads — optional
      • Toiletries
      • Swimsuit (for sauna and public thermal baths)
      • Personal medication if required
      • Camera — optional (but recommended)

Bring comfortable clothing appropriate for the season and the forecast. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans. You’ll be able to discuss your packing list with your guide prior to the adventure.

  • If not bringing your own, you can rent your e-bike and additional equipment. It is possible to do so from your guide once you arrive at the chalet, but this option is dependent on availability. Alternatively, there are many gear shops/rental stores in Chamonix where you can rent your equipment. Either way, you can expect to pay around $100 per day if you decide on renting your e-MTB equipment.

  • Group sizes and pricing

      • For this group adventure, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 9:1.
      • It takes a minimum of 4 people for this tour to operate.

Mountain biking in Chamonix can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

    Min. age requirements

      • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
      • Minors that are 16 or older are permitted to join the adventure on a case-by-case, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

If your group has hikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

  • To get to Les Houches, a town in the Chamonix Valley where your chalet is located, most people fly into Geneva Airport, which is 1 hour away. From there, you can rent a car or take a shuttle service.

The easiest way to get to Les Houches is to first take a train ride from Geneva to Chamonix, followed by another short train ride to Les Houches. You will meet your guide Christophe and chalet host Audrey at the chalet on Day 1. You are expected to arrive there by 4pm.

  • Participants are expected to cover all their bases with emergency medical insurance. We also recommend arranging travel insurance.

With medical/accident insurance, if you have an accident or medical emergency on or off the trails, you’ll avoid paying out of pocket for costly expenses. This covers everything from hospital treatments to emergency air transportation and more. Travel insurance covers canceled flights, natural disasters and other scenarios that may interrupt your travel plans.

We also expect you to respect local regulations and take measures to protect yourselves, your guides, and the communities you’re traveling to.

If you need assistance selecting the right insurance for your group, let us know and we will be happy to help!
