Think you’ve seen it all? Think again. This five-day hiking holiday in the Spanish Pyrenees is a crash course in alpine magic. From turquoise lakes to peaks so dramatic they deserve their own soap opera, every step offers something unforgettable. You’ll hike past glacier-carved valleys, ascend to panoramic passes, and end each day with hearty meals in cozy mountain huts. With just the right mix of challenge and comfort, this is adventure dialed to perfection. Plus, swapping stories with fellow hikers over dinner? It’s the icing on the trail.

  • Our journey begins with a hike through lush pine forests, following the Estós River. As we ascend, the scenery transitions to rugged terrain, offering glimpses of the towering Posets Massif. The Angel Orús hut, perched high in the mountains, awaits as our cozy refuge for the night.

  • Today’s hike takes us over high mountain trails with awe-inspiring vistas of rugged peaks and tranquil valleys. A mix of challenging ascents and descents leads to the Estós hut, nestled amidst verdant landscapes. Along the way, we’ll enjoy views of turquoise lakes and the dramatic peaks of Perdiguero in the distance. Expect a full day of exploration and a well-deserved rest in another mountain hut at the end.

  • Day 3 is a treat for lovers of alpine lakes, with the route passing the shimmering Batisielles and Escarpinosa lakes. Towering peaks like the Pico Posets frame our trek, creating a postcard-perfect backdrop. As we approach Viadós mountain hut, we’ll find ourselves surrounded by verdant pastures dotted with grazing livestock.

    Batisielles lake in the Pyrenees
  • We’ll ascend toward the Collado de Eriste, a high mountain pass that offers sweeping views of the Pyrenean skyline. Along the way, we’ll admire cascading streams and wildflower-filled meadows. The descent leads us back to the Angel Orús hut, completing a loop through some of the region’s most stunning landscapes.

The route will bring us back to the parking lot at Estós, wrapping up an unforgettable hiking adventure in the Pyrenees.

  • On these Pyrenees hiking holidays, we’ll be staying in comfy mountain huts. The mountain huts have shared rooms and shared dining areas, with access to showers with hot water. Plus, there’s a fully stocked bar with service in the mountain huts.

  • Alongside breakfasts and abundant picnic lunches, dinners are also included in the price of this adventure. Dinners often feature soup for rehydration, hearty second courses, homemade desserts, and fresh fruit. Dinner is served at 7pm.

  • These Pyrenees hiking holidays are rated moderate, meaning that a good level of fitness and previous multi-day hiking experience is required for this adventure. You should be able to hike for at least 6-7 hours, and climb 800-1,500 m / 2,624-4,921 ft in a day.

  • Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

      • Day pack large enough to carry everything you might need throughout the day (around a 25-40L bag)
      • Waterproof backpack cover
      • Hiking poles — optional
      • Water bottle or hydration bladder (2L capacity)

      • Comfortable hiking clothes
      • Spare clothes for layering
      • Waterproof rain jacket

    Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

  • Group sizes and pricing

      • For these Pyrenees hiking holidays, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 8:1.
      • It takes a minimum of 4 people for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 8 participants.
      • The cost per person decreases as the group grows, so it’s the perfect opportunity to hike with friends and family!

    Hiking in Spain can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

    Min. age requirements

      • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
      • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the hike on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

    If your group has hikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

  • The starting point of your Pyrenees hiking holidays is Benasque. To get there, most people fly into Lourdes/Tarbes (LDE) Airport. From there, you can take a shuttle service, public transport, or rent a car to reach Benasque.

    Alternatively, some people can choose to fly into Barcelona Airport (BCN), which is 4 hours away from Benasque. If desired, your guide can organize a taxi transfer to Benasque, but the cost is not included in the price of the adventure.

    Once you’re in Benasque, you will meet your guide at a predetermined time in a predetermined location. Your guide will provide more information before the adventure starts.

  • Deposits

    You can secure one of the set dates with a 30% deposit upon booking. The remaining 70% of the trip price is to be paid 90 days prior to departure, at the latest.

    Booking fees are non-refundable in all cases. During checkout, however, you can choose one of 57hours’ flexibility options:

      • In case of cancellation within 48 hours after booking, the amount paid is fully refundable.
      • For cancellations 60 or more days before the trip, you are eligible for a 70% refund of the trip price.
      • For cancellations 0-59 days before the trip, there is no refund.

      • In case of cancellation within 48 hours after booking, the amount paid is fully refundable.
      • For cancellations 60 or more days before the trip, you are eligible for a full refund of the trip price.
      • For cancellations 30-59 days before the trip, you are eligible for a 50% refund of the trip price.
      • For cancellations 0-29 days before the trip, there is no refund.
