Aigüestortes National Park sits in the heart of the Spanish Pyrenees, and its name—”twisted waters” in Catalan—will make perfect sense the moment we hit the trail. More than 200 alpine lakes mirror granite peaks and glacier-carved valleys, with the scenic Estany de Sant Maurici lake as the park’s crown jewel. This 42-kilometer (26-mile) trek weaves through prime Pyrenean terrain over four days, each ending at a perfectly positioned mountain hut. After a hot meal and a real bed, you’ll wake ready for more of what these trails deliver: solid terrain, clean lines, and lake views that beg for longer breaks.

Itinerary

Get ready for four unforgettable days in the Spanish Pyrenees! We’ll trek through Aigüestortes National Park from peak-wrapped valley to crystal lake, with each day bringing fresh mountain terrain to explore. An experienced mountain guide leads the way at a steady pace, while three nights of full-board accommodation in well-positioned mountain refuges take care of the rest. All you need to do is show up ready for pure, unfiltered mountain time in some of Europe's finest alpine terrain!

  • Our trek starts in the parking lot in Conangles. From there, we’ll make our way up to the Mountain Hut of Restanca. We’ll hike through beautiful Pyrenean landscapes, crossing streams and forests, with some steep sections that reward us with incredible views.
