There are incredible trails going up...and down!
Tucked in the foothills of the Rocky Mountain’s Tenmile Range, is Breckenridge, a small town of approximately 5,000 residents with big mountain biking trails and terrain, all at an elevation of 9,600' - it is also a Gold Level Bicycle Friendly Community, awarded by the League of American Bicyclists. Mountain biking and cycling are a huge part of Breck’s backbone. The town’s incredible network of trails all boast easy access and that will take you up and down Colorado's famed terrain: alpine singletrack, loamy forest trails and fields of wildflowers as far as the eye can see.
Get ready for epic rides right out the door
Where to start? Well, a section of Colorado's most famous trail, the Colorado Trail, can be accessed via Galena Gulch for a sweet 16 mile loop. Even the Breckenridge Ski Resort opens it gates - and lifts - for the season, making for some very good singletrack access while saving your legs and lungs from what could be a grueling ascent. From the warm-up oriented River Trail and Lower Flume to the demanding and technical B-Line or Wheeler Trail, there’s miles and miles more in-between to ride during your mountain bike tour.
