Whitewashed villages, the smell of orange blossom on a gravel descent, a cold cerveza at the end of a long day in the saddle… Andalucía has a way of making everything feel a little more alive! Come join us for 5 days of guided gravel riding through the Sierra Morena, the wild mountain range that stretches across the north of Andalucía and sees almost no tourists at all. The terrain is varied and incredibly rewarding, the culture is everywhere, and the food alone could justify the flight. A local guide who knows every trail, a small group, and every last detail taken care of. All you have to do is show up—and maybe brush up on your Spanish for the tapas order.

The adventure, day by day

Cycling in Spain sounds like your kind of thing? Let's go on a 5-day guided gravel bike tour through the wild and sun-drenched landscapes of Andalusia, riding point to point from Seville to Córdoba through the heart of the Sierra Morena. Designed for active cyclists who want to discover southern Spain beyond the obvious, with all logistics, meals, and accommodation fully handled. Nights are spent in carefully chosen spots—a private nature estate, a family-run mountain hotel, a restored monastery, and a countryside finca—and a certified guide and mechanic ride with the group from start to finish.

Day 1: First Andalusian pedal strokes
whitewashed village andalusia

A pick-up is scheduled at noon at Seville train station or airport, from where we head to our basecamp—Dehesa Don Pedro, a stunning private estate set in the Andalusian countryside. After a welcoming lunch and introductions, we hop on the bikes for a first taste of the terrain: a scenic descent to the village of Santa María de Nava along a canyon-like road, then gravel tracks winding between oak groves and cattle farms. We return to the estate as the sun gets low, and settle in for a first dinner under the Andalusian sky.

Meals: Lunch, dinner
Cycling: 33 km (21 mi)
Elevation: +650 m (+2,133 ft)
Accommodation: Dehesa Don Pedro, private nature estate

Day 2: Crossing the Sierra Morena
andalusia wiggly roads

A hearty breakfast and then we’re off—today is the big one into the mountains. We cross the Sierra Morena with a first stop in Puebla del Maestre before diving into the heart of the range via a remote desert track that feels like a different world. Lunch and a visit at the Ermita del Ara, a hidden chapel nestled in the hills, break up the afternoon. We finish in the mountain village of Cazalla de la Sierra, famous for its vineyards and eucalyptus forests, settling in at Posada del Moro—a cosy family-run hotel where the food is as good as the setting.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Cycling: 79 km (49 mi)
Elevation: +1,080 m (+3,543 ft)
Accommodation: Posada del Moro, family-run hotel, Cazalla de la Sierra

Day 3: From forest trails to orange groves
views bikes andalusia

We head east through eucalyptus forests toward Constantina and its hilltop castle, following a 100% gravel route deep in nature. The ride alternates between quiet country roads and wide gravel tracks—occasionally technical, always rewarding. Then the landscape opens up entirely, and we swap forests for endless orange and olive groves stretching to the horizon. We end the day in Palma del Río at a beautifully restored former monastery, with a pool waiting and a cold drink very much deserved.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Cycling: 76 km (47 mi)
Elevation: +770 m (+2,526 ft)
Accommodation: Restored monastery, Palma del Río

Day 4: From the valley to the mountains, heading to Córdoba
sunny day andalusia

The longest day, and one of the best. We ride through citrus groves toward Hornachuelos, a picturesque hilltop town, then continue to the La Breña reservoir with its dramatic natural surroundings. In the afternoon we join the GR48 trail, winding through rugged hills past traditional bull-breeding farms—as rural and authentic as Andalusia gets. We roll into Córdoba and spend the night at Finca Los Abetos, a peaceful hideaway on the edge of the city.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Cycling: 85 km (53 mi)
Elevation: +1,180 m (+3,871 ft)
Accommodation: Finca Los Abetos, Córdoba

Day 5: Final ride around Córdoba
cows usnny day andalusia

A relaxed final loop around Córdoba—22 km to savour the last of the Andalusian sun and let the week sink in. We stop for coffee at the Mezquita, one of the most extraordinary buildings in Spain, then ride along the Guadalquivir River toward the transfer back to Seville. Arrival at Seville train station or airport by 5 pm. A beautiful adventure comes to a close—the memories, though, are here to stay.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Cycling: 22 km (13.7 mi)
Elevation: +320 m (+1,050 ft)

This company: a band of druids who concoct a magic potion designed to give you superhuman strength. These irreducible Gauls even took the liberty of welcoming – during this Andalusian session – 2 Romans who still haven’t recovered from what they’ve seen and experienced… Here are the exclusive ingredients of this well-kept recipe: a team of pros (Abraracourcix & Boufiltre), guides (Asterix & Amenix) who fine-tune the tracks and pamper the bikes, landscapes to feast your eyes on, spit-roasted wild boar galore, riders on the edge of their seats and good humor at every level. Veni, vidi, vici. Vita longa to these guides!

We were in Sevilla, Spain – It was the first time, for me, on a Gravel bike. The experience has been excellent. Challenging from the athletic point of you, interesting in the touristic / cultural aspects and a huge injection of relax, staying so many hours in open air in contact with the uncontaminated nature and many many animals: cows, bulls, dears, sheep, horses, vultures… The participants were coming from different places in Europe and US, but we got on very well! Then our guides: competent, friendly and always willing to support, accommodate and hear our needs / wishes. In short a very positive and battery charging experience.
