Begin your journey in Kathmandu, Nepal’s bustling capital city. Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, we will pick up you up at the airport and take you to your comfortable hotel in the city. You will meet the team of trekkers and together we’ll prepare for the trek. You’ll have some time to rest before heading out for a welcome dinner at a typical Nepalese restaurant in the heart of the city. After dinner, head back to your hotel for the night.

Today we’re exploring the many historical and heritage sites of Kathmandu, such as the Hindu pilgrimage temple of Pashupatinath, the Boudhanath Stupa, and the “Monkey Temple.” This is a great starting point for learning about Nepalese culture and traditions before embarking the Manaslu Circuit Trek. Your hiking equipment and mountain gear will also be checked—if you’re missing anything, you’ll have enough time to purchase it before the trek. Kathmandu is your last chance to stock up on supplies for the remainder of the journey. You can also do some souvenir shopping during the sightseeing. After sightseeing, we head back to the hotel and get our clothing and trekking equipment ready and prepare for the trek.

After an early morning breakfast, we begin our lovely journey heading out of the valley towards the trail-head at Soti Khola. Crisscrossing several hills, our journey continues to wind down the Prithvi Highway with the roaring Trishuli River by our side. Enjoy the stunning hilly landscapes which dominate the skyline, as we reach the town of Arughat, beyond which lies the hamlet of Soti Khola. Overnight stay at Soti Khola.

Up and over the suspension bridge with Soti Khola beneath us, we head deeper and deeper into the lush green forests and towards the opening valley. The trail begins its gradual rise through the hill as Budhi Gandaki continues to flow beneath us. Reaching the village of Khursane, we take a short break before once again picking up the pace through the terraced farmlands and reaching Lapubesi Followed by Machha Khola. Overnight stay at Machha Khola.

Start with the walk through the narrow trail that takes us to the bank of another river. We continue the walk and after some time, we reach the trail meandering along the bank of Budi Gandaki river. The trail will lead us to a beautiful countryside village. We walk further ahead and head towards Jagat. Upon reaching Jagat we prepare for our night’s stay.

We’ll start the day off with an uphill climb. The trail will take us to Salleri and from there, downhill to Setibas. Further ahead, we’ll come across a suspension bridge. Passing the bridge, we’ll reach a village called Philim. The village is mostly populated by Gurung community. As we pass Budi Gandaki river and walk along the bank of the river, the surrounding beauty will be beyond explanation. We continue our walk until reaching Deng village, where we’ll spend the night.

Today we start our trek early in the morning leaving Deng behind. We walk through the bank of Budi Gandaki river. From there the trail takes an uphill turn and leads us to Rana. We then take the trail towards Budi Gandaki valley. We come across beautiful streams and waterfalls on our way. The natural beauties around energize us uplift our spirit. We then walk down towards Sringi valley. The trail then takes us through the forest area and finally to Ghap.

The day starts with the walk alongside the river and then through the forest area. We cross the river and continue our walk through the flat trail. Walking further ahead, we reach Narmu village and get to see the beauty of Himal Chuli mountain and Ganesh Himal. The trail then takes downhill turn and we pass through barley fields. We then finally reach Lho and prepare for the night’s stay.

The trek starts with a walk through the dense forest area. On our way ahead, we can enjoy the views of mountain ranges. The walk ahead will take us to Shyala and from there, downhill, where we finally reach Sama village. The vistas from there are simply amazing. We will spend the night at Samagaon.

Today is an acclimatization day and a rest day, which means that we’ll try to adjust our bodies to the changes in environmental and weather conditions. We stroll around the village and visit popular Buddhist monastery Pungyen Gompa. Enjoy the surrounding views and spend your night at Samagaon.

We start our day with a downhill walk towards Budi Gandaki river. The trail moves further north and crosses the suspension bridge on the way. From here, the Larkya La Pass (5,098 m/ 16,723 ft) trail begins, passing through juniper and birch forest. We continue our walk towards Samdo, where we’ll also spend the night.

We continue walking through the same trail and shortly afterwards come across the bridge over the once large Budi Gandaki river. Walking further ahead the trail takes us to another stream and crossing the stream we move towards Larkya Phedi. Crossing the tundra, the trail winds its way to the foot of the immense Larkya glacier. Surrounding you are mighty mountains and snow-capped peaks, including Manaslu. We will spend our night at larkya rest house.

We start off the day with a walk through the northern side of Larkya glacier. Catch amazing views of Larkya peak from there as we walk further uphill and reach the highest point of Larkye La Pass. The view from the top is simply amazing—you’ll see the mountain peaks like Annapurna II, Kanguru, Cheo Himal and many others, all above 6,800 m (22,310 ft). You’ll be welcomed by colorful Tibetan flags encircling the “Congratulations for the Success” sign. Celebrate your achievement before you head downhill towards the valley, where you’ll spend the night.

Today starts early with a walk through dense rhododendron forest and paddy fields. The view of Mount Manaslu on the way is up close and exotic. We can also see Mount Annapurna and other snowy peaks. We then pass through beautiful landscapes, fields, streams, forests, and reach settlement areas on our way to Dharapani, where we spend the night.

Get ready for your big transit day—you’re driving back to Kathmandu for 6-7 hours. Reminiscing of the remote mountain villages and purity of their modest lives, Kathmandu is a stark contrast with its swarming businesses and buzzing streets. As we meander along the Prithvi Highway, you’ll have time to explore the city before setting out for a farewell dinner to celebrate the successful completion of the trek and prepare for final departure.

Hiking the Manaslu Circuit is a challenging trek that requires excellent physical fitness. If you want to fully enjoy your trip to Nepal, you should be able to hike for up to 6 hours a day on steep, rocky, and slippery terrain with significant elevation changes. A lot of the hiking will be done in high altitudes (up to 5,106 m / 16,752 ft), so some experience dealing with high elevation is recommended. Keep in mind that you’ll also be carrying a backpack for 15 days and that weather can be unpredictable.
The Manaslu Circuit trek isn’t for beginners who have no experience with longer hikes, rugged terrain, and high altitudes. Make sure you’re fit enough to endure multiple days of trekking with a loaded backpack and that you’re ready for higher altitudes.
Every 1000 m/ 3,200 ft you travel above sea level makes aerobic exercise 10% harder. Here are a few tips on do’s and don’ts for adapting to high altitude and avoiding altitude sickness:
You should also try to include cardio and strength training in your schedule. Cardio means getting your heart rate up by doing things like running, cycling, skipping and burpees. Strength training means using resistance, weights or your body weight to grow your muscles. The fitter you are, the less oxygen your muscles need to move — something invaluable in low-oxygen environment.
If possible, do some training hikes at high altitudes before heading to Nepal. This will prepare you for the increased strain placed on your body when engaging in high-altitude trekking.
Yes. Embarking on the Manaslu Circuit trek without a porter is an invigorating choice and your guides will provide 1 porter per 2 participants to help with the load. The weight limit for your luggage is 33 pounds or 15 kg. Remember that your luggage will be carried by your porter but you are required to carry a day-pack (with your valuables or anything important) on your own. We also suggest that you pack only what is necessary.
Suitcases or duffel bags are not allowed on this tour as you will be hiking with the backpack. If you want to bring extra clothing and luggage in a suitcase or duffel bag, you will have to leave them in the city.
Ensure that all items fit securely within your backpack without anything protruding, keeping everything dry during the hike. The recommended maximum weight for your backpack is 15 kg/ 33 lbs, with an optimal limit around 8kg/17.6lbs. The quantities listed for specific items are indicative and based on guides’ recommendations.

Please do not bring sleeping pills as they are a respiratory depressant. Due to the difficult terrain, it’s highly recommended to bring good quality mountain gear. Your guides will contact you about any additional equipment at the time of contracting the trip.

From the moment you step on the trail, you won’t have to worry about food, as all meals, tea and coffee are included—no matter how many cups or how many pots you want to drink! Your guide’s goal is to keep you hydrated at all costs to avoid the altitude sickness and (of course) to have the tranquility of not needing to pay extra money for something as basic as an extra cup of tea.
The accommodation used is always the best possible. In Kathmandu, you will stay at one of the best hotels in town. On the trail, you’ll stay in teahouses, local ones with the best services (rooms, food & facilities) so you can really rest and enjoy after the daily treks.
To get to the Manaslu Circuit in Nepal, most people fly into Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
Once you and your guide agree on the details of your itinerary, they will arrange for your pickup at the airport and transfer you to your accommodation in Kathmandu. After that, all you have to do is stay safe and have fun on this Nepal trekking tour!
