Your ship for this trip is the M/V Kisaq, a 28-meter (92-foot) ice-strengthened ship. Built in 1967, the boat was originally used to transfer people between remote communities in southern Greenland. In her more recent history, she’s been refitted to welcome 10 passengers and four crew for tours throughout West Greenland.
The Kisaq has five comfortable guest cabins, each featuring two single bunk beds, closet, sink, and personal shelves, as well as two shared toilet rooms and two shared shower rooms. With three lounges and eating areas, there’s lots of room to hang out with the group or find your own space to enjoy the place. The ship has lots of deck space, perfect for watching the world go by, or hanging out in the wheelhouse with the captain. And if we want to swap our skis for a different activity, there are four kayaks with drysuits on board!
Our West Greenland experience was a trip of a lifetime! The beauty of the landscape is remarkable and the skiing was beyond anything I imagined. Our guides were fantastic and knew all the good zones to hit per the conditions and group objectives. The Kisaq crew went above and beyond, making the trip extra special. I will remember this trip for the rest of my days.
