Prior experience with multi-day ski tours is necessary. You should be able to ski in various snow conditions. While you don’t need to be an elite athlete, you should have great physical fitness. • The weather in East Greenland during spring is a true arctic winter experience, so you should be prepared for cold temperatures and the possibility of severe weather. Temperatures typically range from -5°C to -20°C (23°F to -4°F). While the weather is generally calmer than in early winter, it remains variable. You can expect a mix of clear, sunny days and periods of snowfall.

Wind conditions are often calm, but occasional storms can still bring heavy snowfall and strong winds. These storms are less frequent than in early winter but still occur. It’s worth noting the unique weather phenomenon called a Piteraq, a powerful katabatic wind that happens a few times each year. When a Piteraq is forecasted, it’s essential to seek proper shelter.
