This 6-day adventure is all about blending the highlights of Iceland with this unique occurrence. helping you check off more items from your bucket list than you ever imagined. Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavik

We begin our journey in the heart of downtown Reykjavík, a vibrant city full of culture and history. Our base is the Skuggi Hotel, a stylish and modern hotel located just steps from the famous Laugavegur shopping street and a variety of local cafés and restaurants. The hotel’s design draws inspiration from Icelandic nature photography, creating a sleek yet cozy urban atmosphere. Its central location puts iconic sites like the Hallgrímskirkja church and Harpa Concert Hall within easy walking distance for our first afternoon of exploration.

Day 2: The Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon

Today, we set out to explore some of Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders, starting at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates drift apart. Next, we continue to the Geysir geothermal area to see bubbling hot springs and the famous Strokkur geyser, which regularly erupts into the air. We then visit the awe-inspiring Gullfoss, or the “Golden Waterfall,” before heading to the Secret Lagoon. As the oldest manmade pool in Iceland, it offers a unique soak in warm waters fed by nearby hot springs.

Day 3: South Coast and total solar eclipse

We explore Iceland’s South Coast, starting with Seljalandsfoss, where we can walk behind the curtain of water, followed by the powerful Skógafoss waterfall. Later, we strap on our crampons and join a certified guide for a 2-hour hike on the Solheimajökull glacier, one of the most impressive and accessible glaciers in the country. In the afternoon, we visit the legendary Black Sand Beach to witness the breathtaking highlight of our journey—a total solar eclipse, expected at approximately 17:47. We finish the day at a family-run hotel near Vík, offering views of the Dyrhólaey Peninsula.

Day 4: Reykjadalur hot spring hike

On our way back to Reykjavík, we stop in the charming town of Hveragerði to visit a local bakery and pick up fresh treats for a simple picnic. We then begin a hike into the Reykjadalur geothermal valley, often called “The Valley of Steam,” known for its bubbling hot springs and rolling green hills. The trail leads uphill through a dramatic landscape to a naturally warm geothermal river where we can relax and soak in the soothing waters. After our hike, we return to Reykjavík to stay at a premium hotel by the Old Harbor.

Day 5: Snæfellsnes Peninsula and Farewell Dinner

We are off to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, a magical place where nature, culture, and history come together. We visit the ice-capped Snæfellsjökull volcano, the iconic “Arrowhead Mountain” known as Kirkjufell, and the Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall. We also head to Ytri Tunga beach, one of the best places in Iceland to spot several species of seals. To conclude our final day of adventure, we gather for a delightful farewell dinner to share stories and laughs from our time together on the island.

Day 6: Departure
Iceland walk and the Moon

It’s time to wave goodbye to the enchanting Island of Fire & Ice as your Icelandic adventure comes to an end. While the tour concludes today, the memories of the glaciers, hot springs, and the total eclipse will last a lifetime. Please note that airport transfers are not included; however, we recommend the Flybus coach service, which offers convenient hotel pick-ups throughout Reykjavík for your journey to Keflavík International Airport.

After arriving in Reykjavik, check into your hotel and settle in. You’ll have some free time to explore Reykjavík’s charming downtown, just a 15-minute walk away from your hotel, before meeting the guide and the team around 2pm. First stop of your Icelandic adventure—the incredible Sky Lagoon! This is a scenic, luxe geothermal spa close to Reykjavik, the perfect opening to your trip. This will be followed by a well-deserved three-course dinner at Kopar, a waterfront restaurant in the old harbor.

Day 2: Golden Circle & Brúarfoss Hike

We’ll start the day with a 40-minute drive to Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, the historic site of Iceland’s first parliament, Althingi. Next, we’ll visit the iconic Gullfoss, or “Golden Waterfall,” followed by the Geysir Geothermal Area, home to Iceland’s most famous geysers. After lunch, we’ll embark on a scenic and easy 7-km (4.3-mi) round-trip hike to Brúarsfoss, where crystal-blue waters flow through lush green surroundings.

Day 3: Day of the total eclipse!

Rise and shine—today is the big day! We’ll journey to the Reykjanes Peninsula, starting with the stunning Lake Kleifarvatn, the largest lake in the region, set in a volcanic crater near the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Next, we’ll stop at the Seltún geothermal area before hiking a small mountain to see the crater and lava field that sparked the 2021 volcanic activity.

After lunch, we’ll visit Gunnuhver hot spring, the Bridge Between Continents, and finally, Reykjanes Lighthouse, where we’ll witness the total solar eclipse, expected to begin around 17:47. The Reykjanes Peninsula offers both a breathtaking backdrop and a practical location for this once-in-a-lifetime event!

Day 4: South Coast & glacier hike

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll hop on our minibus and head south, starting with the breathtaking Seljalandsfoss waterfall—a stunning 60-meter cascade famous for the unique opportunity to walk behind it. As we drive along Iceland’s South Coast, we’ll take in views of Hekla volcano and the infamous Eyjafjallajökull glacier-volcano.

Next, we’ll embark on an unforgettable glacier hike, where a certified guide will lead us safely through ancient ice formations while sharing fascinating glacier history. Afterward, we’ll visit Reynisfjara black sand beach, known for its powerful waves and striking basalt columns, before ending the day at the magnificent Skógafoss waterfall, which plunges 60 meters from the ancient sea cliffs.

Day 5: Glymur Hike & Hvammsvík baths

Just outside of Reykjavik lies Glymur Waterfall, Iceland’s second-largest and a perfect blend of beauty and adventure. The drive takes about an hour, with a stop at a local bakery where you can grab picnic supplies for the hike.

The hike is a 7-km (4.3-mi) loop with a 220-meter (720-ft) ascent, taking around 3-4 hours, and the views along the way are absolutely worth it! Afterward, we’ll unwind at Hvammsvík baths for a relaxing soak, followed by a delicious three-course meal.

Day 6: Departure

  • This Iceland eclipse 2026 tour requires a decent level of fitness. In general, you will walk a couple of hours a day, one day you’ll even go on a glacier hike, but it’s all suitable for beginners. The most you’ll hike in a day is 7 km (4.3 mi) with a very manageable elevation gain.

    You can find day-by-day hikes and activities in the itinerary. Keep in mind that there will be plenty of time to rest, to relax in geothermal hot springs, and be re-energized for a new day!

      • For this Iceland eclipse 2026 tour, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 16:1.
      • It takes a minimum of 6 people for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 16 participants.
      • There are both mixed-group departures as well as women-only departures available.
      • Solo travelers are welcomed and encouraged to sign up—you can either opt for a single supplement or you can choose to share a room with one of your fellow travelers! Note that a single supplement will never be enforced—in case there’s an odd number of travellers, solo travellers will take turns staying in single rooms.

  • To get to the Iceland eclipse 2026 tour, fly into Keflavík International Airport (KEF), serving Reykjavik. From there, it’s best to hop on a shuttle to Reykjavik, or you can take a taxi. It takes about 45 minutes to reach Reykjavik.

    It’s recommended to arrive by the afternoon so you could settle in, maybe take a stroll around downtown, and then meet your team and your guide!
