This all-women wine walking tour in Sicily is ideal for beginners. You’ll go on daily walks and tours, but anyone with a reasonable level of fitness can keep up. This trip is all about exploring at a leisurely pace, relaxing, resting, and reviving.

Getting there and meeting location

To get to Catania, the starting point of your tour, most people fly into Catania International Airport (CTA) . That’s the closest airport, just an hour and a half away by car. Your guides can arrange an airport pick-up around 4pm on Saturday. If you would like to travel outside those time, your guides can help arrange a taxi for a cost of approximately £100. If you plan on arriving overland via Italy or are flying into Palermo, we can recommend the best routes to reach the villa, just let us know in time.

The adventure was a lot of fun! I enjoyed all the walks and felt they were accurately described as "beginner" level. There was gorgeous scenery and the walking guide was very knowledgeable. The wine experiences were great - especially the second one. Our dinners at the masseria were very good. There was one dinner out that we didn't feel there was enough food offered, as we all thought there was another course coming. One suggestion: There was a lot of down time and it would have been nice to offer a few activities, like a deep-breathing class (Emilia mentioned this once but never again), a cooking class, board games or something. The pool was a little too cold in early May to enjoy, so it left us with little to do.

Fortunate to of experienced 4 or 5 trips with walking women. Love the diversity of trips, the choices, ability to spend time withing the group of extraordinary women or time independently. Nothing is missed, such a treat to have everything planed for you. Would highly recommend to all.

Week-long wine tastings at women-owned wineries, delicious Sicilian dishes, and relaxing strolls under the Italian sun. No, you’re not dreaming—you’re just in Sicilian heaven. This is an 8-day, all-women wine walking tour with fantastic guides and local experts following you along your journey. The base for the week is a rustic villa in the countryside boasting a massive garden with hammocks and lounge chairs, a pool, and a timeless kitchen where traditional food will be prepared for you. You’ll go on walks to the beach, to the UNESCO town of Scicli, and to fascinating archeological sites. Make lifelong memories with like-minded women and support women-owned wineries and restaurants!

Make sure to arrive in Catania Airport on time for a 4 pm private transfer to your home for the week. Enjoy welcome aperol, have an intro meeting, and enjoy a homemade dinner together.

If you arrive outside the group transfer times, your guides can book a taxi for you for an additional charge of approx. 100 EUR (110 USD) one-way. We pick up from our recommended hotel in Catania too.

Meals: Dinner
Have breakfast at the villa. Today you’re going to Cava d’Ispica, a fascinating and one of the largest archeological sites in Sicily. Take a trip back to the prehistoric times and Early Christian catacombs by walking through this narrow valley. After a guided trek in Cava d’Ispica, return to your villa around 3:30pm for a relaxing afternoon. Enjoy your evening meal with your team.

Hiking: 4-5 km / 2.5-3 miles
Elevation: +150 m / + 490 ft | -100 m / -330 ft
After breakfast, use the morning to walk to the local beach, maybe even have a swim. At around 5pm, you’ll go to the UNESCO town of Scicli with Emilia, where you can walk to the top of the hill where the church of San Matteo is located. The church dates back to 313 AD, it’s an iconic place for the town, and beautiful views are stretching from the top—you can even see the sea on a good day! At 8pm, you’ll have dinner at a local restaurant, and then transfer back to your accommodation.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
After breakfast, you’ll take a trip to Arianna Occhipinti Winery for tour with wine tasting. Arianna is one of the most renowned women wine makers based in Sicily, so this will be a real treat! Have lunch at a traditional Sicilian restaurant, accompanied with local wine. In the late afternoon, return to the accommodation.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Following breakfast, you’ll get picked up for a day out trekking, around 5 hours in total. You will end in Ragusa Ibla for a walk around this Baroque city and an Aperol to end your day. Transfer back to rest for a bit, and in the evening, you’ll have dinner at the Masseria together.

Hiking: 8-9 km / 5-5.6 miles
Elevation: +200 m / + 660 ft | -450 m / -1,480 ft
After breakfast, you have a free morning, and then lunch at the Masseria. There will be optional activities suggested. There will be organized transfer and a visit to a local small-scaled sister-run winery with local dishes to sample, and then a visit to the famous fishing port of Marzamemi. Transfer back to your accommodation.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Once you’ve had breakfast, you’ll get picked up for a final walk—this will be a lighter morning walk around Sicily with free time for shopping. Transfer back to your accommodation to relax. For the grand finale, you’ll have a cooking class and cook some local Sicilian food with Emilia at the villa!

All good things come to an end, and so does this all-women wine walking tour in Sicily. Transfer back to Catania Airport. If you’d like to stay longer in the area, just ask your guide for some recommendations!

  - This tour typically requires a minimum of six women to run. However, smaller groups can still proceed if participants agree to cover the additional costs. You can secure one of the 2025 dates with a 30% deposit upon booking. The remaining 70% of the trip price is to be paid 90 days prior to departure, at the latest.

Booking fees are non-refundable in all cases. During checkout, however, you can choose one of 57hours’ flexibility options:

  - For cancellations 90 or more days before the trip, you are eligible for a 70% refund of the trip price.
  - For cancellations 0-89 days before the trip, there is no refund.

  - For cancellations 60-89 days before the trip, you are eligible for a 50% refund of the trip price.

- - Only a 10% non-refundable deposit must be paid upon booking, but this deposit can be transferred to any other 57hours adventure in case the dates don’t end up working for you.
  - Once our guides publish new tour dates, we’ll reach out to you so you’ll be the first one to choose from newly released dates.
  - When you pick your date, you’ll confirm your booking by paying another 20% of the total trip amount (amounting to the standard 30% deposit).
  - Once the trip has been confirmed, the regular cancellation policy (found above) applies.
  - The remaining balance is due 90 days before the trip.
