Arrive at Purcell Mountain Lodge by helicopter in the morning. Coffee, tea and continental breakfast will be ready for you to enjoy. The staff will be managing the helicopter transfers while you settle in. After all the flights arrive, the guides will have a brief meeting to discuss the plans for the day, then everyone will come together for a warm welcome & introduction. Very shortly after you will be off on your first day’s ski adventure. The first day’s lunch will be pre-packaged before you arrive: gourmet sandwiches, soups and stews. Take your pick from a selection of in-house baked goods, vegetables, fruits and lots of pocket snacks. After an ACMG guided ski tour with gourmet lunch (4-6 hours), it’s time for an après-ski appetizer service, happy hour, and a chef-prepared three-course dinner. Enjoy personal time in the evening.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Accommodation: Purcell Mountain Lodge
For an older person who has skied at many of the backcountry lodges in complex terrain in BC, Purcell Lodge is a fabulous step down. It offers rolling terrain for mellow days where you can ski alone (with a radio to keep you safe) and absorb the views across to the Selkirks, great tree skiing, and terrain that will satisfy your needs of steep and deep when you feel more energetic. There is an added bonus offered at no other lodge I know, of a heli-bump to a nearby peak to access the beautiful powder bowls. The Lodge itself is deluxe and rivals any new Lodge. Treat yourself and you won’t regret it.
