On this trail running tour, all meals are included, from dinner on Day 1 until breakfast on Day 8. Traditional Irish food is all about hearty, comforting flavors that reflect the country’s rich history and agricultural roots. Besides the famous full Irish breakfast, think rich stews, like the iconic Irish stew made with lamb, potatoes, carrots, and onions, simmered to perfection. Don’t miss the warm, rustic bread, such as soda bread, often served alongside soups or with a generous spread of creamy butter.
Potatoes, of course, are a staple, from mashed to roasted, and even in comforting dishes like boxty (potato pancakes). And no meal is complete without a sweet finish—try sticky toffee pudding or apple tart for a taste of Ireland’s simple yet satisfying desserts. Every bite tells a story of tradition and warmth.
Excellent trip and holiday combining my love of running in different and stimulating locations whilst enjoying post run experiences in a new country. My wife joined me on this trip and although initially tentative around the trail running she loved the experience. Everything ran like clockwork, the camaraderie built through the week and of course the culinary aspect of the entire 8 days was first class to the point where one might have mistaken the package as a cultural and culinary journey with much needed beautiful running workouts the following day! Highly recommend this trip.
