Adventure Camp in Greenland: Hike, Paddle, Explore!

Join our regular departure for the classic experience—the full itinerary designed for adult hikers looking for a well-paced, active adventure.

Greenland isn’t just a destination; it’s a wild playground for adventurers. Hike to secluded glacier pools, paddle fjords surrounded by towering peaks, and camp under starry skies in the shadow of the Itisoq glacier. Cozy tents, crackling bonfires, and a sauna tent provide comfort amidst the wilderness, while fresh-caught fish add flavor to every meal. Whether you’re conquering summits, soaking up stunning views, or paddling serene waters, this journey will redefine your sense of wonder. Experience the Arctic at its finest—Greenland awaits!

  • Arrive early and settle into your cozy expedition tents before a welcome briefing with your guides. Once introductions are complete, we set off on a scenic hike to the island’s hidden “infinity pool,” southeast of camp. The trail winds through rugged mountains and open tundra with spectacular fjord views and peaks rising over 1,000 meters. It’s the perfect way to stretch your legs, shake off the jetlag, and take in the Arctic air. As the sun sets, we gather for a memorable dinner on the rocks, warmed by a roaring bonfire beneath the evening light.

    Hiking: 7 km (4.3 mi), 4–5 hours
    Meals: Lunch, dinner
    Accommodation: Tents

    Infinity pool in Greenland
  • After a relaxed breakfast at camp, we begin our steady ascent toward the majestic Itisoq Glacier, standing proudly at around 750 meters. Emerging from the upper canyon, we reach a vast natural amphitheater surrounded by sharp mountain ridges where we’ll set up camp for the night. Those keen for an extra challenge can continue on to the summit at 1,100 meters for breathtaking views over the ice. As the day fades, we share a hearty expedition-style dinner beneath a glowing Arctic sunset before retreating to our sleeping bags under the stars or in tents, depending on the weather.

    Hiking: 6–8 km (3.7–5 mi), 5–6 hours
    Elevation: +750 m to +1,100 m (+2,460–3,610 ft)
    Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Glacier in Greenland on a sunny day
  • After a gentle start to the morning with coffee and breakfast, we begin our descent back to basecamp, soaking in the incredible mountain views along the way. Once we return, it’s time to unwind — relax in the warmth of the sauna tent, try stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) on the calm fjord, or cast a line from shore to catch your own dinner. Guests are welcome to help prepare the evening meal, whether it’s fresh fish, local game, or seasonal vegetables. This is a slower-paced day to restore your energy and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of camp life.

    Hiking: 6 km (3.7 mi), 4–5 hours
    Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

    SUP paddling adventure
  • Today’s adventure begins with an invigorating paddle across the bay on SUPs, gliding through calm, icy waters surrounded by sheer mountain walls. Once ashore, we trade boards for hiking boots and follow a spectacular ridge trail high above the fjords. Every turn offers new perspectives — jagged peaks, endless valleys, and deep blue waters below. The combination of water and mountain adventure makes this day both dynamic and deeply rewarding. In the evening, we gather for dinner and share stories from the trail.

    Hiker getting ready in Greenland
  • After breakfast, we paddle across Itisoq Bay (or hike, depending on the weather) to reach the base of our next objective — the Shark Fin. This striking mountain peak rises dramatically above the fjord, offering sweeping views of the eastern section of one of the world’s largest fjord systems. The climb is steady but rewarding, with every step revealing more of Greenland’s vast, untouched wilderness. We’ll take time at the summit to soak in the scenery before descending for a final night at camp.

    Hiking: 6 km (3.7 mi), 4–5 hours

    Leaving camp in Greenland
  • On our final morning, we sail into the Kangerluarsunnguaq (Kang Ski) area, a landscape of glacial valleys, rolling hills, and rugged peaks. This moderate hike allows us to get close to the glacier itself — a chance to literally lay hands on the ice and feel Greenland’s wild spirit one last time. We take in the sweeping fjord views and quiet beauty of the Arctic wilderness before returning to camp. With memories made and friendships formed, we enjoy a final meal together before the journey home.
