  • Meet your Cortina d’Ampezzo hiking guide and fellow hikers at Venice Airport at around 3pm, followed by a private transfer (2-2.5 hours) to Cortina. It is also possible to meet with the group at the hotel in Cortina if arriving earlier to the area. You will participate in a trip orientation meeting before dinner.

  • After breakfast, it’s time to go hiking! After a private transfer (25 min, included) to the Falzarego Pass (2,105m/6 906 ft), we will walk up to the pass of Forcella Averau (2,435 m/7,989 ft), with a very beautiful passage under the cliffs of Averau. Afterward, we’ll go up to the Forcella Nuvolau and the Averau mountain hut. We will then walk down to the Scoiattoli mountain hut, on a scenic balcony opposite the Tofane and the Cinque Torri, which are amazing rock spires and a paradise for rock climbers. The descent to Cian Zopé (1,732 m/5,682 ft) is easy. You will return to Cortina via private transfer (15 min, included), followed by another delicious dinner at your hotel.

  • After another delicious breakfast, we’ll reach the starting point of today’s hike, the Giau Pass (2,236 m/7,336 ft), by private transfer (25 min, included). The path leads us to numerous small passes, and finally we reach the Forcella Giau (2,360 m/7,743 ft), offering us amazing views on the mountains to the north and to the south. We walk through an alpine pasture till the path Ambrizzola (2,277 m/7,470 ft), then continue down to the lake of the Croda and its refuge (2,055 m/6,742 ft). Then, we walk down to Ponte de Ru Curto (1,710 m/5,610 ft), via the Alta Via 1 trail, where another private transfer (15 min, included) takes us back to Cortina.

  • Today’s hike starts at the altitude of (1,985 m/6,512 ft), which we reach by private transfer (25 min, included). The trail will lead us under the Pass de Bois and the southern face of the Tofane de Rozes mountain. It eventually leads us to the Dibona mountain hut (2,045 m/6,709 ft) and its terrace, ideally situated opposite of the Cinque Torri. Then, we will walk down along a beautiful, forested path to Pocol, where our transportation to Cortina awaits (10 min, included).

  • Today we have set aside to discover the world famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Your day starts with a private morning transfer (45 min, included) to the Auronzo mountain hut (2,320 m/7,611 ft).Starting from the mountain hut, we will hike over the small scenic pass of Forcella de Mezzo (2,315 m/7,595 ft). Next, we’ll descend towards the north face of the Tre Cime, through the pass of Forcellina and its lakes (2,245 m/7,365 ft). Your guides are all very knowledgeable when it comes to this area and know how to minimize hiking in the crowd. There are many side trails and options for the second half of today’s hike. On the way back to the Auronzo hut, we’ll visit the Locatelli refuge and over the Forcella Lavaredo pass, completing a full circumnavigation of the famed peaks of Tre Cime. A private transfer (45 min, included) will take us back down to Cortina for a well-deserved dinner.

  • After breakfast, take a private transfer (20 min, included) to Passo Tre Croci, where we’ll start this classis Cortina hike toward the jaw-droppingly beautiful Sorapis lake. This spectacular hike begins on a wide path through the forest until we reach the first open views of the surrounding mountains. Here the trail has a few rockier sections supported by cables, rails, and stairs. The hike continues by walking past the Vandelli mountain hut, shortly before reaching the picturesque lake, nestled in at the foot of the summit of Sorapis Mountain (3,205 m/10,515 ft). After having lunch and exploring this pristine lake, we’ll return along the same exciting path to our awaiting private transportation back to Cortina (20 min, included). Tonight, we will go out in town to celebrate our trip and final dinner together!

  • Today, after our final breakfast together we’ll check out and go back to the Venice Airport (2-2,5 hours, included). It is also possible to be dropped off at the Cortina bus station or Venice train station. Arrival to the Venice Airport can be expected at ~12-1pm. Say goodbye to your Dolomites hiking guide, fellow hikers, and to the Italian Alps—or continue touring on your own!

  • For this guided Cortina d’Ampezzo hiking tour in the Dolomites, a moderate level of fitness is required. You should have solid hiking experience, especially in hilly/mountainous terrain. Over 5 days, expect to cover around 7 miles (11 km) per day with elevation gains up to 1,830 ft (560 m), and with 4 to 6 hours of walking every day. Keep in mind that you will sometimes have an option to make your hike longer if desired, depending on weather conditions and desires of the group. You will always have a guide by your side to encourage you, set the appropriate pace, organize breaks, and keep the entire experience safe and enjoyable.

    We suggest maintaining an active lifestyle and going on occasional full-day hikes for preparation. With sufficient fitness and an adventurous spirit, most hikers can enjoy this Dolomites guided hike tour journey.

  • Here’s a list of clothing you need to bring:

      • Hiking Boots/Shoes – waterproof, sturdy sole, deep tread, and ideally well broken in
      • Hiking Socks – one pair for every day or two days of the trip (no cotton!)
      • Sun hat – wide brimmed hat or baseball cap/bandana combo
      • Warm hat & gloves – lightweight beanie and light-to-mid weight fleece or wool gloves
      • Hiking shirts – non-cotton, breathable short sleeve and/or long sleeve shirts
      • Warm top – mid-weight sweater or pullover of wicking material such as merino wool, fleece or polypropylene
      • Mid layer insulating jacket – down-fill or synthetic-fill insulated “puffy” jacket or warm, heavy weight
      • Fleece jacket
      • Hiking pants & shorts – nylon pants and shorts, zip-offs or leggings
      • Base layer/long underwear – 1 pair of moisture-wicking tops and bottoms that are lightweight to midweight and made of synthetic wicking materials such as polyester, polypropylene, merino wool, etc.

    Bring comfortable clothes appropriate for different weather conditions. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

  • During your guided Dolomites hiking trip around Cortina d’Ampezzo, accommodation will be provided at the Hotel da Beppe Sello or a similar comfortable 3-star hotel. Situated just 700 meters from Cortina’s center, this family-run establishment offers cozy rooms boasting majestic Dolomitic views. All rooms are equipped with modern amenities including a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, kettle for tea and coffee, and free WiFi.

    Half-board accommodation includes breakfast and dinner, except for one dinner in a restaurant in Cortina. Guide-prepared trailside picnics will be provided for lunch, along with one hot lunch at a mountain refuge chosen by the guide.

    You’ll start your day with a delightful breakfast buffet, featuring pastries freshly prepared by the staff. Dining at the Hotel “da Beppe Sello” promises a memorable experience. Known as one of the historical restaurants of the Ampezzo area, the hotel’s restaurant offers a refined and elegant atmosphere. The restaurant is also a member of the Unione Ristoranti del Buon Ricordo (Association of Buon Ricordo Restaurants), ensuring a commitment to preserving and promoting rich local Italian cuisine.

  • Single rooms are available for an added fee of $350 per person, but are dependent on availability. You can request single room accommodation, but it is not guaranteed before confirmation from the guide. Contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

  • You can extend your Dolomites hiking adventure by arranging one or more extra nights before the tour in Venice or after the adventure in Cortina. Price is available on request. Contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

  • Group sizes and pricing

      • For this adventure, the maximum number of participants is 14, followed by one guide.
      • It takes a minimum of 4 people for this tour to operate.
      • Please keep in mind that the departure cannot be confirmed until your guides receive confirmations for their lodging partners.

    Hiking around Cortina d’Ampezzo in the Dolomites can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

    Min. age requirements

      • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
      • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the hike on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

    If your group has hikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

  • Your adventure starts in Venice, Italy. To get there, most people fly into Venice Marco Polo Airport. Once there, you will meet your guide and fellow hikers at around 3pm, followed by a private transfer to Cortina (included in the price). Alternatively, you can take a train or a bus ride to Cortina d’Ampezzo on your own and meet your group at the hotel in Cortina.

  • We highly recommend that you cover all your bases with both emergency medical and travel insurance on and off the trails. With medical insurance, if you have an accident or medical emergency, you’ll avoid paying out of pocket for costly expenses. This covers everything from hospital treatments to emergency air transportation and more.

    Travel insurance covers canceled flights, natural disasters and other scenarios that may interrupt your travel plans.

  • Deposits 

    When booking a trip, you can either pay for it in full or reserve your spot with a 50% deposit. The remaining 50% of the trip price is to be paid 120 days prior to departure, at the latest.

    Cancellations

    • Booking fees are non-refundable. 
    • In case of cancellation within 48 hours after booking, the amount paid is fully refundable.
    • For cancellations 120 or more days before the trip, you are eligible for a 50% refund of the trip price.
    • For cancellations 0-119 days before the trip, there is no refund.
