The first night will be spent at a hotel. For the rest of your tour, you’ll stay aboard the 47-meter Indo Master, built in 2022 in Sulawesi and handcrafted from traditional ironwood and teak, offers nine air-conditioned ensuite cabins, including doubles, twins, and a family suite, accommodating up to 16 guests.
Designed for comfort at sea, the vessel features a spacious indoor saloon for meals and briefings, a cocktail bar, and a sundeck for relaxing between activities.
With kayaks, two high-powered Zodiacs, and optional laundry and massage services on board, Indo Master is a well-equipped and comfortable base for multi-day exploration.
All cabins on Indo Master are designed for comfort at sea, with private ensuite bathrooms, individually controlled air-conditioning, generous storage space, and windows for natural light. Each cabin type offers a slightly different layout and feel to suit how you want to relax between activities:
-
- Classic cabins on lower decks have either twin or double beds, all have air-conditioning, ensuite bathrooms, and ample storage.
- Premium suites are located on the upper deck with ocean views and (often) Juliet balconies, these cabins add a brighter, more open feel while retaining all the comforts of the classic cabins.
- Superior suites are spacious upper-deck cabins with private exterior balconies, offering the best opportunity to step outside and enjoy sea views directly from your room, with all the same ensuite and air-conditioning features.
Forget the standard airport hotel experience. For our one night in Labuan Bajo (before boarding the boat), we’re staying at the Meruorah Komodo, a 5-star waterfront retreat that sits right in the heart of the action. It’s tucked inside the Plaza Marina complex—meaning great food and local shops are right outside the door—but the real draw is the panoramic view of the harbor. Just 10 minutes from the airport, it’s the perfect launchpad to relax in luxury before we head out to find the Komodo dragons.
Is it possible to give 6 stars? There is no possible way to pick out one single highlight of this trip, as there were so many, every day. Of course the location is amazing, but the experience of seeing it all from sea level, with our brilliant guides made it all the more astounding.
