Once you arrive, transfer from the airport to the first accommodation in Santiago del Teide on Tenerife, where we will stay for two nights.
Accommodation: Small-scale hotel / finca / guest house
The unique 8-day Tenerife trek is all about its volcanoes. The 85-km (53-mile) trail will take us from the Teno Rural Park, via the Chinyero Volcano, to the Cañadas Del Teide, an old volcanic caldera surrounding the mighty Teide, the third tallest volcano in the world, according to UNESCO and NASA. Teide is an active volcano, with its summit currently reaching 3,715 m (12,188 ft), subject to change. Explore the island’s versatile landscapes, such as ancient laurel and pine forests, dramatic volcanic areas, and barren plains. We’ll stay at authentic, small-scale mountain hotels, hike, laugh, chat, and have a blast. No volcanic pun intended. Come join us.

Your guides recommend that you take out mountaineering or mountain sports insurance. This is important because the hike will take you through remote and difficult-to-reach areas.
Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

This is the second time I have been out with Canary Hiking. Once again well organised. Fantastic locations to stay overnight. I’m going again in March.
