Nestled between Split and Makarska in Dalmatia, one of the most iconic seaside regions in Croatia, Omis is a tourist location that’s somewhat underhyped but definitely over-delivers. Whether you’re in the mood for riding a zipline over the massive Cetina canyon, rafting or kayaking in the nearby lakes and streams, or free-climbing the magnificent Mirabela and Fortica cliffs, you’ll have a blast here! And the absolute standouts here must be the superb mountain biking routes, with numerous thrilling trails nestled between the sea and the mountains. How fit do I need to be?

You will need to be able to bike between two and six hours, depending on the routes you and your guide choose. After booking, your guide will determine the group’s skill level and capabilities and cater the day to your specific abilities. Keep in mind that opting for the longer routes means more biking, which is strenuous even if you stay on the easier trails.

What if I’ve never biked before?

This adventure is meant for riders with some experience who are confident in their abilities. You will need to be able to tackle most regular obstacles on a trail, such as berms, small tables, gaps, or drops. You will progress at a level that is consistent with your comfort. This tour provides the ideal opportunity to take your mountain biking skills to a new level.

What about required equipment?

  • Wear comfortable riding or athletic clothing, preferably moisture-wicking or synthetic material
  • Sneakers or sport shoes
  • Breathable outside layer or jacket
  • Sunglasses
  • Plenty of water, water bottle, or hydration bladder
