The Tagus River wrote centuries of Portuguese history, connecting explorers and pilgrims along its sacred banks. Now it guides one incredible cycling journey from city to sanctuary. Our six-day route from Lisbon to Fátima blends urban energy with rural tranquility, following old pilgrim paths and trade routes. We’ll ride past riverside villages and through cork forests, explore limestone caves and discover sacred sites. Our e-bikes will make light work of every mile, and between rides, we’ll settle into comfortable hotels and soak in centuries of stories. This is central Portugal at its finest: wild landscapes, old traditions, and endless winding roads calling your name.

Follow the historic Tagus River from vibrant Lisbon to sacred Fátima on this 6-day e-bike adventure! We'll ride scenic routes past riverside villages, through cork forests, and limestone formations, all on our trusty Cannondale e-bikes. An expert guide leads the way, a support van handles the logistics, and each night brings comfort at hand-picked 4-star hotels. With daily breakfast, snacks on the ride, and full luggage transfers included, this perfectly balanced adventure gives us active exploration, Portuguese charm, and premium comfort.

  • We begin our journey in Lisbon, where we check in to our centrally located hotel and take time to settle in. The afternoon is perfect for a relaxed orientation, enjoying the city’s riverside atmosphere, historic neighborhoods, and vibrant café culture. Lisbon’s energy, light, and proximity to the Tagus River set the tone for the days ahead, offering a blend of culture, history, and anticipation before we begin cycling.

  • Leaving Lisbon, we follow the Tagus River as the city slowly gives way to calmer riverside landscapes. The route is gentle and scenic, passing through Parque das Nações and quiet paths along the water, with coffee stops by the marina and a relaxed riverside lunch along the way. Open plains and wide skies define the afternoon ride as we approach Vila Franca de Xira, a town closely tied to river traditions. We end the day unwinding at our hotel overlooking the Tagus.

  • We continue north through the Tagus Valley, cycling past open fields, quiet villages, and peaceful riverside roads that reflect the agricultural heart of Ribatejo. The ride is calm and flowing, gradually building toward the historic hilltop city of Santarém. The final ascent rewards us with sweeping views over the river valley. In the afternoon, we enjoy a local wine tasting, celebrating the region’s traditions before settling into our hotel overlooking the plains below.

  • We leave the heights of Santarém and ride into quieter rural landscapes, passing farmland, forests, and small villages that showcase the calm beauty of the Ribatejo interior. A highlight of the day is our stop at Olhos de Água, where natural springs, short walking trails, and nearby caves offer a refreshing break. Rolling countryside accompanies us to the peaceful village of Amiais de Baixo, where our countryside retreat awaits — the perfect place to rest and recharge.

  • Our final cycling day winds through quiet Ribatejo countryside, passing fields, forests, and small villages. We pause for snacks and panoramic views near Minde before continuing toward the Grutas da Moeda, where we explore fascinating limestone caves shaped over thousands of years. The ride concludes with a gentle ascent toward Fátima, where the landscape and atmosphere shift as we arrive at one of Portugal’s most important spiritual destinations. The afternoon is free to explore the sanctuary and reflect on the journey.

      • It takes a minimum of 4 people for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 8 participants.

    Min. age requirements

      • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
      • Minors younger than 16 may be permitted to join this Lisbon to Fatima e-bike adventure on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

  • The price for this tour is based on twin-share rooms, but a single occupancy room can be arranged at an additional fee. You can add it to your booking at checkout.

  • The starting point of your Lisbon to Fatima e-bike adventure is Lisbon, Portugal. To get there, most people fly into Lisbon Airport (LIS). From there, you can take a shuttle service, public transport, or rent a car to reach Lisbon.

    Once you’re there, you will meet your guide at the reception of your hotel in Lisbon on Day 1. You will receive more details before your departure.
