Private Cat Skiing in Goderdzi, Georgia

Snow doesn’t get much more reliable than it does here. The Caucasus catches some of the heaviest annual snowfall of any range in Europe or Asia, and Goderdzi sits in one of its deepest pockets—a corner of Georgia most skiers have never even considered, let alone visited. We’ve chased powder across enough ranges to know how rare terrain this untouched actually is. Five full days in a private snowcat take you through open bowls, dense forest lines, and alpine slopes, shaped daily around the snow and how the group’s skiing. And when the boots come off, there’s a proper wine tasting rooted in one of the oldest winemaking traditions on Earth, a hands-on khinkali class, and a luxury spa hotel to sink into every night.

Adventure Highlights

  • Snow without the crowds: Goderdzi holds some of the heaviest snowfall in the Caucasus, yet remains almost entirely unskied by international travelers
  • A week shaped around you: Private snowcat access all five ski days, with terrain adapted daily by your guides based on conditions and how the group’s skiing
  • A proper reset after the cold: Evenings built around a luxury spa hotel, a hands-on khinkali class, and a wine tasting rooted in Georgia’s ancient winemaking tradition

The adventure, day by day

Seven days built around five full days of private cat skiing in Goderdzi, one of the Caucasus' snowiest regions. We meet you at Tbilisi, Batumi, or Kutaisi Airport and drive up to a luxury mountain spa hotel, your base for the week. From there, your guides shape each ski day around the current snow and how the group's skiing—wide-open powder fields, untouched forests, and alpine terrain, accessed almost entirely by snowcat. Somewhere in the middle of the week, there's a break from the cold for a khinkali-making class and a wine tasting rooted in Georgia's ancient winemaking tradition. Evenings are spent back at the hotel, with a pool and spa to work the legs loose.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Goderdzi
goderdzi aerial mountains

We meet you at Tbilisi, Batumi, or Kutaisi International Airport and set off toward Goderdzi in premium SUVs with professional drivers. After around four hours on the road, we switch to a snowcat for the final hour up to the hotel, your base for the week. In the evening, your guides brief you on the days ahead, and there’s time to sink into the hotel spa and take in the mountain views before the skiing begins.

Meals: Dinner
Accommodation: Ambassadori Goderdzi Hotel

Day 2: First day of cat skiing
cat skiing mountain

Five full days of private cat skiing start here, with your guides shaping each one around the current snow and how the group’s skiing. Expect wide-open powder fields, forested lines, and alpine slopes, accessed almost entirely by snowcat, with ski lifts brought in only when the terrain calls for it. A mountain lunch keeps you fueled through the day, and dinner back at the hotel closes things out. With private snowcat access, there’s no waiting in lines, just fresh lines and however many laps the group can handle.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Ambassadori Goderdzi Hotel

Day 3: Second day of cat skiing

Another full day of private cat skiing, with the terrain adjusted to yesterday’s conditions and whatever the group wants more of—deeper trees, open bowls, or steeper alpine lines. The rhythm holds: snowcat access to the goods, a mountain lunch on the go, and dinner at the hotel once the boots come off.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Ambassadori Goderdzi Hotel

Day 4: Third day of cat skiing and a taste of Georgia
khinkali class

Skiing continues with another full day on the snowcat, working through whatever mix of powder fields and tree runs suits the group best. Back at the hotel in the evening, there’s a break from the cold for a hands-on khinkali-making class, learning to fold and cook Georgia’s favorite dumpling, paired with a wine tasting that traces the country’s roughly 8,000-year-old winemaking tradition. A good excuse to sit still for a night.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Ambassadori Goderdzi Hotel

Day 5: Fourth day of cat skiing

Four days in, and there’s still plenty of terrain left to explore—untouched forests, open alpine slopes, and whatever pockets of powder your guides have been saving. The format holds: full-day private snowcat operation, a mountain lunch on the trail, and dinner at the hotel to close out another day chasing fresh snow.
