Itinerary

Bali is an outdoor lover's paradise with rivers, canyons, lakes, and volcanoes. This 3-day bicycle tour reveals a new side of Bali, offering thrilling bike rides through stunning scenery, rice terraces, temples, and villages while exploring Balinese culture. We’ll start at the base of Mount Batukaru, and stop at the mystical Monkey Forest temple, exploring Bali’s rich spiritual side. Each night, we’ll unwind in comfy hotels, blending exploration with relaxation, and by day, we’ll have the chance to taste some seriously amazing local food. This is our chance to see Bali the way it’s meant to be seen-off the beaten path, with plenty of local charm and adventure.

  • We will meet you at your hotel in Kuta or Legian area at 7:30am and transfer you all the way to the foot of Mount Batukaru at 1,300 m (4,265 ft) altitude. This area of Bali is not frequently visited by western tourists but will simply take your breath away.

Today’s ride is 35 km (22 miles) long and takes us down past the stunning green Jatiluwih Rice Terraces and through small villages. It’s a fun and easy ride, mostly down or flat, with just a few short climbs. We’ll stop for a visit to the famous Tanah Lot Temple, one of Bali’s most beautiful temples. Built on a rock in the ocean it is surrounded by sea at high tide. We’ll end our ride at our charming hotel in Canggu, directly on the beach.

The second part goes through the classic rice paddy fields.

Throughout the tour there will be many opportunities to stop and take photographs and interact with friendly locals. We will also stop at one of the many village temples and explain the importance of religion to the Balinese culture. We’ll ride all the way down directly to our hotel located in Ubud. Safety

Wearing a helmet is required on all our biking adventures and is non-negotiable. If you do not wear a helmet you will not be allowed to cycle. It is therefore compulsory that you take out travel insurance that will cover you for a mountain biking tour.

  • Indonesia is a vast archipelago affected by a series of weather patterns, and depending on which island you are on, the weather can be hot and wet or hot and dry. Indonesia’s monsoonal climate usually means short heavy downpours rather than all-day, never-ending rain.

Located 8 degrees south of the equator, Bali is home to a tropical climate with constant temperatures during the day ranging from 28°C (82.4°F) to 30°C (86°F) at sea level, although the humidity varies throughout the year. It is highest during the rainy season which is from December to March and gradually reduces to its lowest level from May to September, when a beautiful dry cooling breeze blows across from Australia.

  • Keeping you completely hydrated is a job we take very seriously. Cold water, some energy-restoring local fruit and soft drinks are included in the tour price. We are riding in a Muslim country and though beer is available, it might not be served in some restaurants. If you choose to purchase some beer, please note that it’s not included in the price.

  • Please keep in mind that departures are not guaranteed because there are no scheduled departures for this trip. But please send us an inquiry telling us when you’d like to go, how many people are in your group, and we’ll get back to you shortly.
