Tuscany e-MTB Holiday: Where Singletrack Meets Wine Country

Tuscany is best done on two wheels—and even better when every day feels a little different. One morning we’re carving through the flow trails of Massa Marittima, the next riding above the Mediterranean near Populonia, then rolling straight into a wine tasting back in the hills. I love how seamlessly it all comes together: coastal views, forest singletrack, long lunches, and that one perfect base we keep coming back to. With our electric mountain bikes smoothing out the climbs, we’ll just focus on the fun parts and let Tuscany do the rest for 6 glorious days.

The adventure, day by day

This 6-day Tuscany e-bike holiday is built for riders who want it all: flow, views, variety, and just the right amount of indulgence. We carve through Massa Marittima’s forest trails, ride high above the sea in Piombino and Populonia, dive into the playful lines of Monte Calvi, and wrap it all up on the wild terrain of Monte Arsenti. Each day feels different, but the rhythm stays the same: ride hard, stop for a proper Tuscan lunch, maybe a swim, then do it all again. With one base, smooth logistics, and a wine tasting to top it off, this is Tuscany done right.

Day 1: Welcome to Tuscany
campiglia marittima

Upon landing at Florence Airport, you’ll meet the guide for a private transfer to the Tuscan coast. After checking into the hotel near Campiglia Marittima, we’ll ease into the trip with a relaxed evening: good food, a laid-back pace, and that unmistakable “we’re in Italy” feeling setting the tone for the days ahead.

Accommodation: 4-star hotel
Meals: Dinner

Day 2: Flow trails in Massa Marittima
narrow biking trail in Italy

We start strong in Massa Marittima: classic Tuscan terrain, natural trails, and the kind of riding that immediately sets the tone for the week. Afterwards, it’s back to the hotel for a well-earned dinner and a slow evening.

Accommodation: 4-star hotel
Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Biking: 35–40 km (22–25 mi)
Elevation gain: 900+ m (2,950+ ft)

Day 3: Coastal riding in Piombino and Populonia
Seaside biking in Tuscany

Day three takes us by shuttle to Piombino to ride on a hillside overlooking the coast, full of fantastic trails to ride that branch off in every direction from the dirt road at the crest. We will stop to visit the ancient fortress of Populonia for lunch and ride down to the beach in the afternoon to dive into the Mediterranean and cool off.

Accommodation: 4-star hotel
Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Biking: 35-45 km (22-28 mi)
Elevation gain: 1,000-1,500+ m (3,280-4,920 ft)

Day 4: Campiglia and Monte Calvi with wine tasting
Bikers drinking wine in Tuscany

Today we will visit the wonderful Monte Calvi trail center. We will ride all day, stop for lunch in Campiglia, located at the foot of the hill, and then return there in the afternoon for refreshments after completing all the afternoon stages. The five main enduro trails are different from each other, but all super smooth and fun!

Accommodation: 4-star hotel
Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Biking: 35-40 km (22-25 mi)
Elevation gain: 1,200+ m (3,940+ ft)

Day 5: Monte Arsenti finale ride
Three bikers in Tuscany

We go to Monte Arsenti, one of the most iconic MTB trail areas above Massa. Scenic trails, natural terrain, and incredible views over the coastline and surrounding hills make this a truly memorable riding day in Tuscany. You may want to buy some local wine and products to take home, visit the town center one last time, or relax at the spa.

Accommodation: 4-star hotel
Meals: Breakfast, lunch

Day 6: Departure from Florence
Florence, Italy skyline with landmark buildings over the Duomo

After breakfast, it’s time for departure, signifying the end of this Tuscan e-bike adventure.
