Great itinerary. Beautiful country. Loved the challenge (for me new to MTB). Would love to do more riding and hiking. Maybe spend less time eating and drinking!

This was a highlight of our trip! Nejc planned an amazing ride for us and was so kind, flexible, and communicative. This is a great way to see Slovenia and the route is through very well-kempt gravel roads with minimal cars so it felt very safe. He gave great recommendations for dining and points of interest along the way.

Just returned from the most fabulous holiday in Slovenia. A new destination for us & an absolute gem. Pristine clean, picture postcard perfect, friendly welcoming accommodation, people & great restaurants. Our trip was organised from start to finish by Nejc from HourAway as a e-bike & hike tour. The e-bikes were super & Nejc’s instruction gave our group the confidence to enjoy them from the start & push that little bit harder to fully enjoy the amazing views from high & sweeping downhills. We swam in lakes, rafted down a clear azure river & enjoyed local food & wine together in traditional restaurants & wineries in out-of-the-way places. This was all due to Nejc’s organisation & creativity devising our itinerary to fit within the number of days we had together. Above all we got to know Nejc & enjoy his company. He is so proud of his country & his enthusiasm for outdoor activities made the most of the scenery, mountains, rivers, villages & local culture. It is without doubt the perfect way to enjoy Slovenia. Go ahead & try it!

Five stars aren’t even enough to give Houraway. If you are looking for a local and an absolute expert of all of Slovenia, with the kindest and most thoughtful personality, who just wants to make the perfect adventure specifically for you, then look no further and book Houraway, right away. I’d biked through Slovenia before and wanted a more unique experience, to see the hidden gems of this beautiful country, and that is the tour Nejc designed. No Google searches would have provided this epic adventure. And the bike was top notch- better than what I ride at home. Thank you Houraway for unforgettable lifetime memories. Looking forward to coming back!

My cycling trip with Houraway was an absolute highlight! Nejc was an amazing bike guide, brimming with knowledge and a contagious passion for cycling. The carefully planned route took us through breathtaking landscapes and charming villages that left me speechless. The attention to detail, from the comfortable bikes to the mouthwatering local cuisine we sampled, was simply outstanding.
Houraway truly knows how to create an unforgettable adventure, and I can’t recommend them enough for an exciting and impressive cycling experience!

It’s hard to find the words to describe how wonderful our adventure was . We and eight friends and family did a custom Alps to Adriatic tour with Nejc and Uroš for 12 fun, adventure filled days and nights.

We had met Nate a couple years before on a one day, bicycling adventure in the valley of his home and enjoyed it so much.

We knew we could count on him to take excellent care of our friends and family and it’s hard to express how well the team and their local contacts cared for us all.

Oh and they were very accommodating of our mixed group of both ‘Rabbits’ and ‘Turtles’ as we named ourselves. ;).

The bullet points of this mountain e-bike, hiking and white water rafting adventure in Slovenia:
1. Well organized!
2. Excellent, well maintained equipment!
3. FUN!
4. Nejc & Uroš speak fabulous English (along with many other languages) and taught us some Slovenian. And they are PATIENT and CALM.
5. Certified Bicycle Tour Guides in Slovenia.
6. Delightful, comfortable, clean lodging.
7. FUN Surprises!
8. Very knowledgeable about Slovenian Culture and history and shared some off the beaten path treasures with us.
9. The food…I could write a book on how amazing it is.
10. SO FUN!!
11. Very respectful of the environment as a company and a country!
12. Reasonably Priced.

I will paraphrase a beautiful toast on our last night, “Na zdravje or Cheers to the parents who raised two very fine young men!”

Thank you Nejc, Uroš and all the folks who contributed to one of the most amazing adventures! I wish you all the best and we might have to book a trip now for a next trip so we can secure a spot, as I know you’re fast becoming the GO TO mountain e-biking company in Slovenia! We cannot wait to visit you and your stunningly beautiful, clean country again soon.

I took the Mountain Bike tour in September 2025 from the Alps to the Adriatic. It really was one of my most incredible travel experiences and I still look at my photos weekly. Even though I’m not an avid gravel biker I learned so much about gravel biking and really did enjoy all of the bike trips. We were able to see so much of Slovenia and understand the beauty and uniqueness of this country. I loved every one of the side trips that Hour Away put together. The caves, organic gardens and dinner and the wineries. It was so fun to meet so many locals who were passionate about their jobs and their country. I was so impressed with the agenda that was put together. Each of the small hotels that we stayed at were both unique and amazing in the care and welcoming that was provided to us. Thanks so much for sharing your passion and your country with us!

There are so many stunningly beautiful places to visit in the world, Slovenia being one of my favorites, but it’s how you get to experience those places that make vacations truly magical. Touring with Nejc and Uros of Hour Away Tours was everything i could have hoped for in a trip. Born and raised in Slovenia, they know the country inside and out. The beautiful, secluded trails and roads we biked and hiked on, the information on each area they’d share with us, the incredible people they introduced us to who were so passionate about the wines they produced, the food they were serving you, the guesthouses they ran, all these things just created such a fantastic experience. The tour is scheduled so every day was different and often they had surprises for us throughout the day. Having two guides we were able to split into different levels of challenges so some would take a more difficult route and some would go with something more comfortable for them. I can’t even begin to put into words how wonderful this trip was. I highly recommend treating yourself to touring with these guides.

Our recent Alps to Adriatic E bike tour was fantastic! Our guide and now friend, Nejc was wonderful! His enthusiasm for sharing unique, outstanding Slovenian places and people made for a very enjoyable holiday!. He was great at reading the group and filling the days with memorable experiences, We loved getting to know the two other couples on our trip! Slovenia is so beautiful! It is a paradise for cyclist, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. Our e-bikes were of high quality and our routes were so much fun! It is obvious that Nejc had carefully selected each route. Just a few of our unique experiences included biking through the mountain village where Nejc’s family still lives, a surprise picnic at a hilltop church yard, an impromptu accordion performance at a mountain hut, a special meal at an organic farm and wine tasting at a family run winery.
My wife and I have done many bike trips. We consider this one.to be at the top and we hope to travel again with Nejc as guide!

Nejc was a fantastic guide and tailored the Alps to Adriatic trip to our party taking into account our individual preferences. The mix between e-MTB and hiking was perfect, with other traditional experiences adding loads of flavour. Nejc removed all the stress of logistics and navigation from us and got us off the beaten track, away from tourists. He took great pride in his country Slovenia and guided with humour and passion. We got a real insight into what Slovenians (like Nejc) value and how they live. It would be hard to pick one day over the next; it just seemed to get better and better!
The accommodation was often in small (medieval) villages and in pension style hotels with character and equally passionate hosts. The whole experience was fantastic, with every day equaling the previous. From Ljubljana to Izola, what a blast!

We have had the pleasure to do many European bike trips but nothing compares to the spender of the mountains in the country of Slovania. Nejc not only provided the back road experience of a true native born but the spirit of the people. Nejc had connections to the most quant accommodations with a true desire to give you their all when you were their guest. What can I say was the best? The views, the food, the accommodations, the caves, the hikes, the rafting or just all the care put into making every thing special. The trip with these unbelievable guides will be one experience to treasure.

We did the electrical bike tour and with 2 perfect guides we enjoy the whole trip.
Hotels had more a sympathy and personal touch, than big and modern.
The guides adapted their speed and difficulty on our possibilities.
No question was to much for them and they were very alert if we had a problem.

We had the trip of a lifetime thanks to Nejc.
He took us through a lot of Slovenia on bikes or hiking mountains. Slovenia is beautiful and we had a very personal experience. We were treated like family everywhere we went. Our accommodations couldn’t have been any better. Nejc was the best tour guide. He had everything planned out perfectly and then when weather didn’t permit what was planned he came up with another wonderful plan. Our trip was full of wonderful people, places and surprises! Thank you Nejc!

WOW! The guides far surpassed my expectations in every possible way! Nejc and Uroš catered our 14 day chick trip to turn our adventures into spectacular memories! As an avid mountain biker from Colorado, I was at first skeptical about Ebiking and after day one, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! Amazing biking, hiking, swimming and even rafting in picturesque scenery through the many diverse Slovenian regions, quaint accommodations, cultural culinary delights, schnapps, and much laughter with old and new friends truly filled my heart! This small, guided tour allowed for a personal and welcoming experience everywhere we went!

Great equipment, engaging guide and fantastic trails equals Excellent Adventure. Best day in Slovenia was with Nejc cruising trails we would have never found on our own. Look forward to booking again when we return with a group. UPDATE returned September 2025 with a group of 10, for a 12 day Alps to Adriatic guided tour. Nejc and his brother Uroś far exceeded expectations. The farm stays, field to table dining, wine tasting and cycling were fantastic. Best organized tour we have experienced.
