Avery grew up in Southwest Virginia where she found her interest in the outdoors at a young age exploring the Appalachian mountains out her backdoor. After graduating high school, she packed up her things and moved to Quito, Ecuador to pursue an undergraduate degree in International Relations and Environmental Management. The Ecuadorian Andes is where Avery found her love for mountaineering, climbing and photography (check out her website averystoltecreative.com). She now splits her time between Ecuador and the Pacific Northwest, enjoying time in the mountains with others as much as possible.
