• What are the bikes like?

  Hybrid bike rental is included in the price for 5 riding days. The bike is Focus Crater Lake Lite, and it’s the best choice for cycle touring and tackling the riding days. Being light and aerodynamic, it can ride fast and handle climbs. With slightly wider tires, a more upright position and flat handlebars, these bikes offer a great deal of comfort, too. Women’s and men’s frames are available. With this bike, you get:

• How fit do I need to be?

  This Dordogne cycling tour (self guided) is rated moderate, which means that a good fitness level is required to go on this trip. Previous multi-day cycling experience is very welcome. Expect to cycle from 24 km / 14 mi to 64 km / 40 mi on riding days.

• What do I need to bring?

• What is a self-guided tour?

  A self-guided tour is an independent exploration without a formal guide leading the way. Instead of being part of a group with a tour leader, you will navigate the tour yourself, using resources provided by the operator, such as maps, guidebooks, and digital apps. Your guide will also take care of other parts of the tour, such as 24/7 support and accommodation.

  • • It takes a minimum of 1 person for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 6 participants.
    • The cost per person decreases as the group grows, so it’s the perfect opportunity to cycle with friends and family!
    • Please note that your chosen dates for the tour are not guaranteed until confirmed by the guide. If the guide is unable to secure your preferred dates/accommodation, you’ll get a full refund!

  Min. age requirements

  • • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
    • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the self-guided Dordogne cycling tour on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

  If your group has cyclists under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

• Getting there and meeting location

  The starting point of your Dordogne cycling tour self-guided adventure is Montegnac. To get there, most people fly into Bordeaux Merignac Airport (BOD). From there, you can use public transport or rent a car to reach Montegnac.

  Here’s how you can access Montignac easily from different starting points:

  • • From Bordeaux, there’s a train (2h) to Perigueux, and another train (1h15) to Montignac.
    • From Brive-la-Gaillarde, take the bus Number 320 (1h15 ride).
    • From Perigueu, take the bus Number 336 (1h ride).
    • From Souillac, you can take the train to Sarlat (about 1h ride), and then bus Number 336 (half an hour ride) to Montignac.

• Deposits and cancellation policy

  You can secure one of the set dates with a 30% deposit upon booking. The remaining 70% of the trip price is to be paid 90 days prior to departure, at the latest.

  Cancellations
  Booking fees are non-refundable in all cases. During checkout, however, you can choose one of 57hours’ flexibility options:

  • • In case of cancellation within 48 hours after booking, the amount paid is fully refundable.
    • For cancellations 90 or more days before the trip, you are eligible for a 70% refund of the trip price.
    • For cancellations 0-89 days before the trip, there is no refund.

  Flexible

  • • In case of cancellation within 48 hours after booking, the amount paid is fully refundable.
    • For cancellations 90 or more days before the trip, you are eligible for a full refund of the trip price.
    • For cancellations 60-89 days before the trip, you are eligible for a 50% refund of the trip price.
    • For cancellations 0-59 days before the trip, there is no refund.
