We do everything we can to stack the odds in our favor, tracking weather, cloud cover, and aurora activity to give you the best possible chance of seeing the lights. That said, this is nature, and sometimes it just doesn’t cooperate.
If that happens, no stress. You can join the tour again free of charge anytime within the next three years, so you’ll always get another shot at catching the show. In rare cases, if conditions look poor, the tour may be canceled earlier in the day so you don’t head out for nothing.
The tour lasts approximately 4–5 hours, depending on conditions and how far we need to travel for clear skies.
We’ll be riding in a Super Jeep, one of those vehicles that turns heads even before the engine starts. It’s built for Iceland’s wild side, so you can sit back, feel completely safe, and enjoy the ride as we head off the beaten path where regular cars simply can’t go. It’s part of the adventure in itself.
Behind the scenes, these are heavily modified vehicles with massive 38″ to 50″ tires and reinforced suspension, designed to handle snow, ice, and rough terrain with ease.

The starting point of your Super Jeep Northern Lights tour in Iceland is Reykjavík. To get there, most people fly into Keflavík International Airport (KEF). From there, you can take a shuttle service, taxi, or rent a car to reach Reykjavík.
You will be picked up directly from your accommodation or a nearby designated pickup point in Reykjavík at either 8:30 pm or 9:30 pm, depending on the season.
