Covid measures in the Zion area, Utah

57hours is committed to providing safe outdoor adventure experiences. We require all guides using our platform to have a COVID-19 safety plan and to make the details of that plan accessible to travelers. In most cases, group sizes will be reduced, guides will avoid overcrowded locations, and other safety measures will be met depending on the location and activity.

We also expect clients to respect local regulations and take measures to protect themselves, their guides, and the communities they’re traveling to. For more information on COVID-19 measures in the Zion area, please refer to Utah’s official COVID-19 update website.

Please contact us if you have any questions or require further information. We are happy to provide you with the most up-to-date information!

Your guide will change the itinerary or terrain if it gets too strenuous for you or other members of the group.

What if I’ve never mountain biked before?

As long as you pedal on two wheels, you can book this adventure. Even though some off-road biking experience is preferable, it is not mandatory. A guide will explain the different mountain bike techniques and body positions to get you feeling comfortable on the trail. You will progress at a level that is consistent with your comfort. Once you finally get the hang of trail riding, you will only want more!

What about required equipment?

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Wear comfortable riding or athletic clothing, preferably moisture wicking or synthetic material
  • Sneakers or sport shoes (even canvas trainers can work!)—don’t forget to wear socks
  • Breathable outside layer or jacket
  • Sunglasses
  • Plenty of water, water bottle or hydration bladder
  • Daypack with snacks
  • Toiletries (sunscreen, hand sanitizer, bug spray, toilet paper, etc.)

Getting there and meeting location

To get to the Zion area, most people fly into Las Vegas McCarran International Airport 2.5 hours away. From there, you can rent a car and take a shuttle service to Springdale, Rockville, Virgin, La Verkin, or Hurricane in Utah. Due to National Park restrictions, all mountain biking trips are located just outside of Zion National Park.

Once you and your guide agree on the details of your itinerary, they will suggest the best place to meet. Your guide can also pick you up at your accommodation in any of the towns listed in the first paragraph—and take you back once the adventure has finished. Alternatively, you can simply meet your guide at a designated recreational site if you prefer to get there on your own.
