Heli Ski Holidays in Svaneti, Georgia

The best terrain is usually the hardest to reach. Unless you’re in Svaneti, where 13,000-foot peaks rise straight from your helipad. Over 7 days of heli skiing in Georgia, we’ll load up our B3 helicopter and let two local IFMGA guides show us the very best of the Caucasus: technical faces, pristine glaciers, sheltered powder stashes, and terrain that rarely sees tracks. When the day winds down, we return to our base in Mestia to a perfect setup: a comfy bed, a relaxing spa, and traditional Georgian dishes that taste even better after earning them. This is the kind of backcountry skiing that makes you reset your standards.

Itinerary

Join this 7-day Svaneti heli ski holiday and explore some of skiing's last wild terrain. We’ll ski for five full days, with our B3 helicopter flying us to truly untouched lines and two seasoned IFMGA guides who know every face. Everything runs smoothly from touchdown to takeoff: airport transfer, 4-star accommodation in the heart of Mestia, full board of proper mountain meals, and all the avy gear are already arranged. Just bring your gear and a hunger for steep lines.

  • Most of our time in Svaneti will be spent on the slopes, but there’s plenty more to explore in this UNESCO region! Options include more helicopter hours for extra vertical, a heli transfer or scenic tour, relaxation in a forest sauna, wine tasting, a traditional dinner with polyphonic singers, or an immersive theater experience. Let us know at checkout if any of these options catch your interest. Availability isn’t guaranteed, but your guides will do their best to make it happen.

If you’re a group of 6 or more skiers, a program like this can be arranged for you! Contact us to discuss your preferred dates and custom requirements.

  • Our adventure in the stunning Caucasus region kicks off with a transfer to our hotel in Mestia, a picturesque town in the Svaneti region of northwest Georgia nestled in the Greater Caucasus Mountains. We’ll check into our hotel, then share a welcome dinner and go over the itinerary with the guide. If everyone’s feeling good after the journey, we can dive into avalanche training; otherwise, we’ll tackle it in the morning.

We’ll ski for about 3 hours, then have either a picnic in the mountains or lunch back at our hotel. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy the fresh powder for about 2 more hours. After a thrilling day, we can kick back with après-ski, followed by dinner at the hotel or a local spot. We’ll wind down with some relaxation in a bar or lounge in the evening.

Svaneti Heliskiing
Svaneti Heliskiing began with local guides who grew up skiing these peaks on homemade gear, dreaming of bigger lines. Today, after more than 15 years of exploring the Caucasus, they run Georgia's first local heli operation. With seasoned IFMGA guides working alongside experienced pilots who've flown these mountains for decades, Svaneti Heliskiing offers small-group access to terrain that most people only see in photos.

  • A good level of physical fitness and off-piste skiing experience is essential to fully enjoy these Svaneti heli ski holidays. You should be comfortable skiing on black-marked resort slopes and have at least intermediate experience with off-piste skiing. This background will help you navigate the varied terrain of the Caucasus, which includes everything from steep, challenging slopes to long, cruisy runs across wide-open glaciers and sub-alpine forests. Most runs start at elevations of 2,300 m / 7,546 ft and can reach up to 4,000 m /13,123 ft, so you’ll need to be prepared for high-altitude skiing.
