Along the way, we’ll settle into a small collection of 4 & 5-star lovely coastal hotels, each chosen for its atmosphere as much as its comfort. In Cascais, we stay inside the historic walls of the Pestana Cidadela, where sea views, quiet courtyards, a pool, and spa invite you to slow down and enjoy the setting. Further south, HS Milfontes Beach* offers a relaxed, easygoing feel right by the ocean—perfect for unwinding after a day outdoors. Our time finishes in Sagres at Memmo Baleeira or the Pousada de Sagres, both known for their warm Portuguese hospitality, comfortable rooms, wellness facilities, and sweeping Atlantic views—ideal places to rest, reflect, and enjoy the coast. Single occupancy room is available at an additional cost.
Depending on availability, the two nights at HS Milfontes Beach may instead be spent at River Inn, Duna Parque Beach Club, or Guarda Rios (3-star alternatives in the same area).

We recently took the Atlantic Coast Short Break tour, hiking the Atlantic coast of Portugal and visiting the sights of Sintra and surroundings. We were recommended the guide by two sets of friends who did two separate trips, and we will recommend this to keep this chain going. The combination of outdoors, culture, history, and food made the trip densely packed and perfectly balanced. Our guide, Manuel, was a walking encyclopedia. He fielded questions with knowledge from a wide breadth of topics. There was much discussion on native and invasive plants, since this is an interest of my wife. Manuel was very patient with my history questions as I tried to sort out the sequence of invaders that included Romans, Moors, Spanish, French, etc. He was even well-versed on Portuguese literature (fiction, non-fiction, and poetry) to fill any gaps for us after the trip. We had a great time!
