This isn’t just a trip—it’s the kind of adventure that ruins all other ski trips forever. Welcome to four days of unfiltered heli skiing magic in the heart of Iceland’s Troll Peninsula! Based out of a cozy lodge, a heli will whisk us away to epic summits several times a day, and once we’re done hunting for the best untouched lines, we’ll end our days with a geothermal pool, sauna, or hot tub! Expect pristine slopes, and exceptional views, and dreamy descent on mountains around iglufjörður, Ólafsfjörður and Fljótin.

We’ll chase the best lines around Siglufjörður, Ólafsfjörður, and Fljótin, with expert guides ensuring every run is pure perfection. Join us for the ultimate heli-skiing adventure in Iceland!

  • Welcome to Iceland! Day 1 is all about arrival and settling in. Depending on where you’re at—Keflavik Airport, Reykjavik, or Akureyri—we will organize a shuttle transfer to our Sóti Lodge. Make yourself at home, maybe take a swim in the next door Barðslaug pool, or just have a relaxed evening. Tomorrow, our heli skiing adventure begins!

  • After a hearty, delicious breakfast at the lodge, we’ll board a heli that will take us to the summits of the breathtaking mountain peaks surrounding us. With expert, experienced guides by our side, we’ll tackle the best runs, carefully chosen for optimal conditions. Midway through the adventure, we’ll take a well-earned break on the mountain, enjoying picnic lunches freshly prepared at the lodge.

    The tour focuses on the mountains around Siglufjörður, Ólafsfjörður and Fljótin. We’ll have one hour of heli fly time per day (8 runs). Once we’re done for the day, we’ll return back to our cozy lodge, where a well deserved three-course dinner will be waiting for us as well as aprés ski snacks!

Leifur is one of Iceland’s most experienced guides, with 35 years of experience. During his mountain guide career he has guided Mt Everest, as well as all other 7 continental peaks and ski expeditions to both the North- and the South pole. Leifur is the first person in the world to finish a double Adventure Grand Slam—climbing the 7 summits and reaching both poles twice! Leifur has been a key figure in Icelandic tourism and guiding, pioneering ski tours on the Troll Peninsula and helping establish guide training systems. A geologist by degree, he is the former director of Iceland’s National Avalanche Forecast Center and a past instructor for the Canadian Avalanche Association.

Ólafur or “Óli” is an experienced ski guide that has been leading groups all over Iceland and Greenland for decades. Óli is a man of many talents—between running the luxury hotel Kleif and operating “Inside the Volcano”, he always makes sure to reserve some time for his passions of heliskiing and rock climbing. Óli is just a good companion to have around!

Sara competed in alpine skiing during her childhood and teenage years, up until she switched to coaching for her ski club. She earned diplomas as a ski instructor and coach and headed to Austria to work as a ski instructor for one winter. In order to become self-sufficient in skiing on glaciers and off piste, Sara gained mountaineering education and was soon guiding others in the mountains. She holds the following certifications: AIMG Level 1 ski guide, AIMG Level 1 Alpine Trekking, and AIMG Level 1 Hard Ice.

  • This Iceland heli skiing adventure is suitable for intermediate off-piste skiers in good physical condition. Whilst your guides expect great corn, snow conditions can be variable in the mountains and you should be comfortable riding in a variety of conditions.

  • Group sizes and pricing

      • For this Iceland heli skiing adventure, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 4:1.
      • It takes a minimum of 2 people for this tour to operate.
      • While only 4 guests can fit the Astar B2 helicopter (as well as a pilot and a guide), the maximum group size is set at 12 participants.
      • The length of the tour can be customized, and it’s also possible to organize private trips.

    Iceland heli skiing adventures can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

    Min. age requirements

      • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
      • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the Iceland heli skiing adventure on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

    If your group has skiers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

  • The starting point of your Iceland heli ski adventure is the Sóti Lodge in the north of Iceland. Your guides realize that it may be logistically difficult to reach it—so a shuttle service from Keflavik Airport, Reykjavik, or Akureyri to the Sóti Lodge is included in the price of the trip!

    After booking, more details are to come about the exact departure times and pick-up.

  • To secure your spot, a deposit in the amount of 30% is required at the time of booking. The remaining amount must be paid 90 calendar days prior to the trip departure. Once the trip is confirmed by the guide, the cancellation policy stated below applies. If you cancel the booking…

      • More than 120 days before the departure date, you are entitled to a full refund minus the deposit (less the booking fees).
      • 119-90 days before the departure date, you are entitled to a refund in the amount of 50% of the full trip price (less the booking fees).
      • 89-75 days before the departure date, you are entitled to a refund in the amount of 25% of the full trip price (less the booking fees).
      • Within 75 days of the departure date, no refund will be issued.
