    • 5-day Iceland heli skiing adventure

• How fit do I need to be?

  This Iceland heli skiing adventure is suitable for intermediate off-piste skiers in good physical condition. Whilst your guides expect great corn, snow conditions can be variable in the mountains and you should be comfortable riding in a variety of conditions.

• What do I need to bring?

  Technical backcountry ski touring gear

  • • Skis and bindings — your guide offers these for rental free of charge, high performance Blizzard freeride skis
    • Touring boots and poles
    • Avalanche safety equipment (backpack with air system, Arva avalanche beacon, shovel, and probe) — your guide offers this for rental free of charge

  Personal items

  • • Helmet
    • Sunglasses or ski goggles
    • Gloves and hat
    • Wind and waterproof shell jacket with hood (Gore-Tex recommended)
    • Ski pants (Gore-Tex recommended)
    • Down jacket or vest
    • Synthetic or wool base layers, underwear and socks
    • One triple-action locking carabiner or two conventional locking carabiners
    • Repair kit and Leatherman for your equipment (can be shared between several people)
    • Water bottle and 1L of water
    • Thermos with a warm beverage — optional
    • Food you can eat on-the-go
    • First aid kit
    • Sunscreen
    • Clothes for the lodge
    • Daypack large enough to carry all items you might need throughout the day (around a 30-40L backpack)

  Group sizes and pricing

  • • For this Iceland heli skiing adventure, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 4:1.
    • It takes a minimum of 2 people for this tour to operate.
    • While only 4 guests can fit the Astar B2 helicopter (as well as a pilot and a guide), the maximum group size is set at 12 participants.
    • The length of the tour can be customized, and it’s also possible to organize private trips.

  Min. age requirements

  • • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
    • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the Iceland heli skiing adventure on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

  If your group has skiers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

• Getting there and meeting location

  The starting point of your Iceland heli ski adventure is the Sóti Lodge in the north of Iceland. Your guides realize that it may be logistically difficult to reach it—so a shuttle service from Keflavik Airport, Reykjavik, or Akureyri to the Sóti Lodge is included in the price of the trip!

  After booking, more details are to come about the exact departure times and pick-up.

• Safety measures and insurance

• Deposits and cancellation policy

  To secure your spot, a deposit in the amount of 30% is required at the time of booking. The remaining amount must be paid 90 calendar days prior to the trip departure. Once the trip is confirmed by the guide, the cancellation policy stated below applies. If you cancel the booking…

  • • More than 120 days before the departure date, you are entitled to a full refund minus the deposit (less the booking fees).
    • 119-90 days before the departure date, you are entitled to a refund in the amount of 50% of the full trip price (less the booking fees).
    • 89-75 days before the departure date, you are entitled to a refund in the amount of 25% of the full trip price (less the booking fees).
    • Within 75 days of the departure date, no refund will be issued.

  Please note that booking fees are non-refundable in all cases and will be deducted from the refund amount.

  Early Bird booking

  Want to be the first one to know when we publish new dates or secure your spot well in advance? Select a future month that suits you best and lock in your Early Bird spot in time with just a 10% deposit. 

  As soon as our guides publish new tour dates, you’ll be the first one to know. We’ll hold your spot for 2 weeks until you choose the date that suits you best. 

  More about how Early Bird bookings work below:

  • • Only a 10% non-refundable deposit must be paid upon booking, but this deposit can be transferred to any other 57hours adventure in case the dates don’t end up working for you.
    • Once our guides publish new tour dates, we’ll reach out to you so you’ll be the first one to choose from newly released dates.
    • When you pick your date, you’ll confirm your booking by paying another 20% of the total trip amount (amounting to the standard 30% deposit). 
    • Once the trip has been confirmed, the regular cancellation policy (found above) applies.
    • The remaining balance is due 90 days before the trip.
