Backcountry Skiing Adventure in North Iceland: Ski to the Sea

The best ski days end with a cold beer and a hot soak. The best weeks? They go like this—chasing powder towards glistening Arctic waters, feasting on gourmet meals that hit just right, and soaking in a geothermal pool that’s been steaming since before our great-grandparents were born. For six days, Iceland’s Troll Peninsula is ours to shred—think steep couloirs, wide-open bowls, and not a lift in sight. Just our skis, our legs, and a guide who knows every secret stash. We’ll ski hard, eat well, sleep deep—then wake up and do it all over again.

  • Hot spring après

Soti is Northern Iceland’s hidden gem. I didn’t want to leave at the end of our stay. The location is perfect for exploring the north, the surrounding nature is endless, there’s a surf break minutes away, and so so many ski lines. Olof’s cooking is out of this world, and the entire staff made us feel like part of their family. A place to stay, relish, and share moments in this beautiful region. I highly recommend it and know I’ll be back.
