Itinerary

Spend five days immersed in the raw beauty of Glacier National Park, where mountain trails, open skies, and quiet moments set the pace. This guided hiking journey balances time in the wilderness with comfortable evenings indoors, creating space to move, rest, and reset. With flexible daily hikes, optional activities, and experienced guides handling the details, the focus stays on connection—to nature, to the group, and to yourself—without the hassle of camping or logistics.

  • We begin with a relaxed, scenic hike designed to warm up the legs and ease into the group in a quiet, remote area of northwest Montana. The trail winds past several glacially carved lakes, offering calm reflections and excellent opportunities to spot waterfowl. We hike at an unhurried pace, with time to pause, snack, and enjoy the setting. In the afternoon, we return to Whitefish, where we settle in and enjoy a flexible evening to explore the town’s galleries, breweries, and mountain-town charm.

  • Today offers flexibility to match how we’re feeling. We hike to Alpine Doris Lakes, a beautiful destination where we can relax, swim, and take in expansive views. For those seeking a longer challenge, an optional extension leads to Doris Summit, where panoramic views stretch across Glacier National Park and the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Both options reconnect for a relaxed descent and shared time at the lakes. We return to Whitefish for our second night and enjoy a group dinner at an upscale local restaurant.

    Hiking: 4–8 mi (6.5–13 km)
    Elevation: +1,000–1,800 ft (+305–550 m)

  • Today is intentionally flexible. We may choose a rest and recovery day with a scenic boat ride on Two Medicine Lake, or combine the boat ride with a self-guided hike ranging from an easy lakeside stroll to a longer hike toward Dawson Pass. In the afternoon, we travel east across the Continental Divide to East Glacier, experiencing a quieter and more historic side of the park. The evening is unhurried, with time to relax and enjoy the lodge’s expansive deck.

Hiking: Optional 1–8 mi (1.5–13 km)
    Elevation: +200–2,000 ft (+60–610 m)

  • We hike in the Many Glacier area, one of the park’s most striking regions, following scenic trails to iconic alpine lakes. The route offers sweeping valley views and time to relax at the lake itself. During our lunch stop, guests may opt into a wilderness painting session led by an experienced instructor, inspired by the surrounding landscape. In the evening, we enjoy our final group dinner at the historic Many Glacier Hotel before returning to East Glacier.

  • Our final hike explores the quieter Firebrand Pass area, known for its high-country terrain and excellent wildlife viewing. Guided in partnership with Glacier Institute, we learn about Glacier’s geology, ecology, and landscape history while keeping watch for mountain goats and grizzly bears from a safe distance. After the hike, we return to Whitefish, with the trip concluding in the afternoon.

Lydia was the best guide and so caring. She stayed back with me when I was struggling. She talked with me to distract me and gave me every encouragement along the way to make it to the mountain peaks.
