Itinerary

Embark on this week-long e-MTB adventure in Chamonix, France, amidst the enchanting fall scenery of the Alps. From exploring charming villages to delving into deep forests and enjoying stunning mountain vistas, this tour offers a lot of excitement, while also blending in relaxation, and French Alpine culture. Stay in a deluxe mountain chalet with top-notch amenities, enjoy homemade French cuisine, and experience the ultimate comfort. With experienced guides, delicious meals, and breathtaking rides, this adventure promises an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Alps.

  • Arrive at the chalet in Les Houches in the Chamonix Valley by 4pm. After checking in and receiving your room assignments, we can visit the bike rental shop if necessary. At 6:30pm, there will be a briefing and welcome drink, followed by dinner at 7:30pm.

  • After breakfast at 8am:00, we’ll start riding at 9:30am. We will start with an easy trail through the village of Les Houches leading into the town of Chamonix. Here, we will explore local shops, bakeries, monuments, and historical sites such as L’Aiguille du Midi station, the Montenver train, and museums. Following a scenic ride along the River Arve, we will reach the Alpine village of Argentiere for a picnic lunch. The return journey provides breathtaking views of glaciers and mountain peaks. Back at the chalet around 5pm, we will have free time for the sauna, a massage, or relaxation before dinner at 7:30pm.

    Elevation gain: 950 m (3,117 ft)
    Riding time: 5-6 hours

  • Following breakfast, we will continue riding. We will cycle along the historic Diligence Trail down to village of Servoz and then proceed to Lac Vert, a local “gemstone.” Here, we will enjoy a lunch break while taking in the beautiful surroundings. The tour continues with a climb to the remote village of Ayères, once inhabited by sheep farmers. After a break, the route descends gently towards Vieux Servoz and finally back to Chalet Mountain Vibes via Charousse.

    Distance: 35 km (22 miles)
    Elevation gain: 1,500 m (4,921 ft)
    Riding time: 5-6 hours

  • After breakfast at 8am, the day is ours to rest or explore Chamonix attractions. You might take the local train to visit L’Aiguille du Midi and the Mer de Glace (lit. sea of ice), or simply enjoy the French way of life in Chamonix town. Your hosts, Christophe and Audrey, can recommend the best restaurants and places of interest and can provide transport back to the chalet after dinner* if needed.

  • Following breakfast, we’ll continue our e-MTB tour. Today’s route takes us towards Fatiere village, up the “Aiguilles Rouges” slopes, and then descends into Servoz village to reach the wild Tête Noire forest, where we might even spot edible mushrooms. A lunch stop at Col de la Forclaz pass will offer a chance to absorb the forest vibes. Exiting the forest at Prarion pass, we will admire the Chamonix Valley and experience the Tour du Mont Blanc Trail before returning to the chalet. Back at the chalet around 5pm, we will have free time for the sauna, a massage, or relaxation before dinner at 7:30pm.

  • After breakfast at 8am, we will go on our last e-MTB tour during our adventure. We will first take the local train to the village of La Buet, then cycle up to Refuge de la Loria for a picturesque lunch break. The route continues with a descent to the village of Vallorcine, exploration of the Bois de la Planche forest, and a short break at Col des Posettes pass. The route then takes us to the village of Le Tour and ends in the village of Argentiere, from where we will take the train back to Les Houches and cycle back to Chalet Mountain Vibes. Back at the chalet around 6pm, we will have free time for the sauna, a massage, or relaxation before dinner at 7:30pm.

  • We will enjoy a final breakfast at 8am before departing the chalet by 10am. Reflect on your incredible adventure before saying goodbye to your guide, host, and to fellow mountain bikers.

  • For this Chamonix Valley e-MTB tour, participants should have great fitness & be capable of riding for several hours on hilly, unpaved terrain. The tour is mostly suitable for intermediate mountain bikers, requiring the ability to cover approximately 20 miles (35 km) per day, with an elevation gain of around 5,249 ft (1,600 m). Riding an e-mountain bike significantly eases the effort, and a guide will always be by your side to encourage you, observe your technique, and ensure the pace is suitable for the group. The rides include frequent breaks, and a rest day is scheduled during the adventure.

  • Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

      • 2 sets of riding or athletic clothing
      • Backpack large enough to carry the picnic and extra clothes (25 L capacity)
      • Water bottle or hydration bladder (2L capacity)
      • Sport shoes
      • Breathable jacket
      • Sunglasses
      • Water bottle
      • Leisure clothing for your free time and visit in Chamonix town
      • Regular mountain bike helmet
      • Biking gloves — strongly recommended
      • Flexible knee pads — optional
      • Toiletries
      • Swimsuit (for sauna and public thermal baths)
      • Personal medication if required
      • Camera — optional (but recommended)

    Bring comfortable clothing appropriate for the season and the forecast. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans. You’ll be able to discuss your packing list with your guide prior to the adventure.

  • Group sizes and pricing

      • For this group adventure, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 9:1.
      • It takes a minimum of 4 people for this tour to operate.

    Mountain biking in Chamonix can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

    Min. age requirements

      • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
      • Minors that are 16 or older are permitted to join the adventure on a case-by-case, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

    If your group has hikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

  • To get to Les Houches, a town in the Chamonix Valley where your chalet is located, most people fly into Geneva Airport, which is 1 hour away. Once you land, there are several ways to reach your destination, including public transport. Looking to make airport transfers hassle-free?     You will meet your guide Christophe and chalet host Audrey at the chalet on Day 1. You are expected to arrive there by 4pm.

  • Covering all your bases with insurance is mandatory for this tour. To make your booking and traveling experience as carefree as possible, you’ll be offered to simply insure your trip with Redpoint at checkout.

  • Deposits

    Secure your spot with a 30% deposit upon booking! The remaining 70% of the trip price must be paid 90 days prior to departure at the latest. If booking within 90 days of departure, the full amount is required at the time of booking.

    Cancellations

    Booking fees are non-refundable after a 48-hour grace period. During checkout, however, you can choose one of 57hours’ flexibility options—Basic, Flexible, or Super Flexible. Depending on which one you choose, a different cancellation policy will apply to your booking.

    Basic

      • If cancelled within 48 hours of booking, a full refund will be issued.
      • If cancelled 60 or more days before departure, a 70% refund of the total trip price will be issued.
      • If cancelled within 59 days of departure, no refund will be issued.

    Flexible

      • If cancelled within 48 hours of booking, a full refund will be issued.
      • If cancelled 60 or more days before departure, a full refund of the total trip price will be issued.
      • If cancelled 30-59 days before departure, a 50% refund of the total trip price will be issued.
      • If cancelled within 29 days of departure, no refund will be issued.

    Super Flexible

      • If cancelled within 48 hours of booking, a full refund will be issued.
      • If cancelled 30 or more days before departure, a full refund of the total trip price will be issued.
      • If cancelled within 29 days of departure, a 50% refund of the total trip price will be issued.

    Want to be the first one to know when we publish new dates or secure your spot well in advance? Select a future month that suits you best and lock in your Early Bird spot in time with just a 10% deposit. 

    As soon as our guides publish new tour dates, you’ll be the first one to know. We’ll hold your spot for 2 weeks until you choose the date that suits you best. 

    More about how Early Bird bookings work below:

      • Only a 10% non-refundable deposit must be paid upon booking, but this deposit can be transferred to any other 57hours adventure in case the dates don’t end up working for you.
      • Once our guides publish new tour dates, we’ll reach out to you so you’ll be the first one to choose from newly released dates.
      • When you pick your date, you’ll confirm your booking by paying another 20% of the total trip amount (amounting to the standard 30% deposit). 
      • Once the trip has been confirmed, the regular cancellation policy (found above) applies.
      • The remaining balance is due 90 days before the trip.
