Frey Hut is a must-visit destination in Patagonia. This cozy, small mountain hut, built in the 1970s using granite from the surrounding cliffs, creates an ideal setting for skiers from around the world to connect and share their adventures in Patagonia’s breathtaking winter landscape.
Located just a few hours from South America’s premier ski resort, Frey Hut offers a variety of routes suitable for all skill levels and snow conditions. It’s the perfect spot for skiers and splitboarders seeking to explore Patagonia’s vast wilderness while enjoying their runs with the convenience of carrying only daypacks.
Please note that mountain huts are not luxurious glamping sites or mountain hotels like those found at ski resorts. These huts are located deep in the backcountry and provide basic accommodations: a bed or mattress in a shared room, a dining area, and a kitchen.
Meals are prepared for guests, and fires are lit to warm the space and dry gear. Toilets are in separate buildings, and showers are not available during the winter. While the hut usually has electricity, this cannot always be guaranteed.
