Rémi Capelle
Ever since he began mountain biking as a child, Rémi grew up with the desire to take it up professionally. With his first international event when he was 15, he kept on joining many competitions. Although he was working as an engineer in Switzerland for a few years, the desire to escape into the mountains never left him, leading him to Whistler, Hafjell, and Madeira. Rémi decided to leave his job as an engineer and went on to experience the other side of the world—New Zealand, where he discovered some of the most beautiful MTB trails on the planet. Once he returned to Europe, he became a mountain bike guide and instructor, thus making his passion his job. Rémi is DEJEPS certified and a Swiss Cycling Guide. Today, his goal is to share his experience and love for the mountains. He wants other people to discover the beauty of Swiss and French mountain biking, with a focus on safety, feeling of achievement, and the pleasure of biking.

This MTB trip follows a route through the French Alps. In the summer, the Alps benefit from a generally warm and sunny climate, temperatures can reach 30°C (86°F). But in the mountains, the weather can change quickly and it is not impossible to have a lot of rain, or even snow at high altitude the next day. Therefore, even if you will ride most of the time wearing a T-shirt, we recommend packing warm and waterproof clothes in case of bad weather. Arriving in the south alps, you can expect a hot temperature in summer. A comprehensive packing list will be sent to you upon booking.

  • If you want to avoid the hassle of bringing your own e-bike, you can rent one from your guide. Additionally, your guide can loan you a jet helmet at no extra cost. You can add the bike to your booking upon checkout.

  • Group sizes and prices:

      • The maximum group size for this group tour is 7 people with one guide.
      • It takes a minimum of 4 people for this tour to operate.
      • The cost does not decrease as the group grows.

Mountain biking in the French Alps can be arranged for private groups. Contact us prior to booking.

    Min. age requirements:

      • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
      • Minors (as young as 12) may be able to participate on a case-by-case basis, but must be accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian.

If your group has riders under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

  • Fly into Geneva International Airport (GVA), where you’ll be met by your guide on Day 1. They’ll then transfer you and other fellow mountain bikers to your first accommodation in Thonon-les-
Bains, a charming spa town on the shores of Lake Geneva.

The exact meeting point and meeting time will be given to you once the tour is confirmed. Keep in mind that it may depend on the arrival time of other participants.

  • We highly recommend that you cover all your bases with both emergency medical and travel insurance. With medical insurance, if you have an accident or medical emergency on or off the mountain trails, you’ll avoid paying out of pocket for costly expenses. This covers everything from hospital treatments to emergency air transportation and more.

Travel insurance covers canceled flights, natural disasters and other scenarios that may interrupt your travel plans.

We also expect you to respect local regulations and take measures to protect yourselves, your guides, and the communities you’re traveling to.
