On a mission to enable sustainable outdoor adventures for millions around the world

On a mission to enable sustainable outdoor adventuring for millions around the world.

The transformative effect of adventuring outdoors

Our raison d'être. Our lifeblood. Because it happened to us.

Long before we knew the term “adventure sports,” our childhoods were spent outdoors running, climbing, skiing, and riding bikes. As we grew older, our sports took us further afield, but a funny thing happened: we found ourselves reflecting inwards, and connecting outwards.

We started looking everywhere for opportunities to make an impact. Like choosing jobs where we could make a difference, raising our kids with open-minded values, and influencing our friends to adopt healthier lifestyles.

That’s why we created 57hours, for those who head outdoors and become more appreciative of our planet, environment, and all the people—of different cultures, colors, and nations—as a result. We hope you’ll join us.

Alpine climbing is an awesome opportunity to conquer that peak you’ve always dreamt about!

Our guides don’t helicopter in, they are part of the communities where they live and work. When you book an adventure you support local jobs and businesses.

One of the hardest things about guiding is having enough clients to make a living doing what you love. Through 57hours, guides can grow their business faster. With our global reach and a steady flow of clients, guides can put their creative energies towards ever wilder trips to a wider audience.

And our guides do it right too: we assure that they have proper permits and are certified.

Sustainability in the outdoors happens through local communities and guides

We support environmental and diversity efforts

1%
Our self imposed planet tax

1% of our gross sales goes to environmental non-profits, a yearly pledge we make as a member of the 1% for the Planet. Each trip we promote has a non-profit partner for various environmental initiatives that we carefully choose every year.

Our current non profit partners are AccessFund and Protect Our Winters.

1% of our gross sales are reserved for our self-imposed planet tax.
Another 1% of our gross sales go to the guides education grants, half of which is reserved for women guides to promote equality and diversity.

1%
WOMEN EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY EDUCATION FUND

1% of our gross sales goes towards guide education grants. To become a certified guide takes years. To make a decent living takes even longer. We supplement our guide’s development by paying for trainings, certification, and supporting their business as it grows.

Half of these grants are allocated to female and BIPOC guides for professional training, from Single Pitch Instructors to advanced certification.

It’s a numbers game. A single guide, on average, introduces one hundred people to adventure sports every year. By enabling diversity in the guiding community, the impact is many times greater.

Our name

There are 57 hours from 3:00 pm, Friday, to midnight, Sunday.

For years, we maximized those hours, skipping out on work early at the end of the week, packing the car with gear, driving off to climb, hike, ski, run or sail, and returning late Sunday, tired, happy and fully recharged.

A crew preparing for an awesome surf weekend. A family enjoying their mountain biking weekend.

Team

Viktor is the heart and head of the 57hours team.

Viktor

I am a passionate skier, climber, surfer, and a serial entrepreneur, but what I enjoy most is showing people how great the outdoor lifestyle can be. This led me to start 57hours, as a way to welcome as many people outdoors as possible. Living in NYC but adventuring around the globe.

Perica is a rock climber first and foremost, and a core member of the 57hours permanent adventure team.

Perica

Being a rock climber first and foremost, I've happily discovered a passion for new adventures—like hiking in Iceland and surfing in NYC—through building this company. I also love creating digital products and making the world a better place one small step at a time. Living in Zagreb, Croatia.
