Deposits

When booking a trip, you can either pay for it in full or reserve your spot with a 30% deposit. The remaining 70% of the trip price is to be paid 90 days prior to departure, at the latest.

Cancellations

After 48 hours, booking fees are non-refundable in all cases. You can choose one of 57hours’ flexibility options:

Basic
  • If canceled within 48 hours of booking, a full refund will be issued.
  • If canceled 90 or more days before departure, a 70% refund of the total trip price will be issued.
  • If canceled within 89 days of departure, no refund will be issued.
  • Booking fees are non-refundable after a 48 hours grace period.
Flexible
  • If canceled within 48 hours of booking, a full refund will be issued.
  • If canceled 90 or more days before departure, a full refund of the total trip price will be issued.
  • If canceled 60-89 days before departure, a 50% refund of the total trip price will be issued.
  • If canceled within 59 days of departure, no refund will be issued.

Super Flexible

  • Experience the beauty of Portugal on this 5-day e-bike tour from Coimbra to Fátima. We’ll begin in the historic city of Coimbra, known for its vibrant culture and stunning architecture, before setting off through charming villages, ancient Roman ruins, and picturesque olive groves. With the ease of electric-assisted cycling, we’ll savor each moment of our journey, soaking in breathtaking landscapes and rich local heritage. Each day offers opportunities to connect with the region’s history. As we approach Fátima, the serene beauty of the Serra de Aire e Candeeiros awaits, making this tour the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and cultural immersion.

    • On Day 1, we’ll explore the city of Coimbra. Situated on the banks of the river Mondego, Coimbra is known for its University, the oldest in Portugal, and one of the oldest in Europe, which has molded its image as ‘the city of students’ over time.

    • We’ll start by traveling through the beautiful city of Coimbra towards Condeixa, where we’ll find the ruins of Conímbriga, a Roman city known since the 16th century. We’ll follow the Moorish river until we reach the town of Rabaçal, an ideal place to stop for lunch. The route continues along footpaths and roads until we reach the town of Ansião.

    • Leaving Ansião behind, the route continues through olive groves and cultivated fields until we reach Freixianda. The route maintains the same characteristics from Freixianda to Ourém, passing through many villages on the way.

    • We’ll start our last day of e-biking just 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from our final destination. We’ll take the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful natural landscape of the Serra de Aire e Candeeiros Nature Reserve.

    • On our last day, we’ll explore Fátima. The Sanctuary of Fátima is one of the major centers of Marian worship, visited by pilgrims from all over the world.

    • In order to join these Carmelita Route e-bike holidays, good fitness is required. You’ll be cycling on an e-bike up to 50 km (31 mi) per day, 3 days in a row. Check out day-by-day distances and elevation changes in the itinerary! Expect to ride a total of 120 km (74.5 mi) over 3 e-biking days. The tour is not too strenuous as you’ll be riding a high-quality e-bike, which will provide that extra push when needed.

      The routes around 65% off-road, with some singletracks, but these aren’t particularly difficult.

    • Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

        • Day pack large enough to carry all the items listed (around a 25-40L bag)
        • Water bottle or hydration bladder (2L capacity)

      Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

    • Group sizes and pricing

        • For this Coimbra to Fátima e-bike tour in Portugal, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 4:1.
        • It takes a minimum of 4 people for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 8 participants.

      Biking in Portugal can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

      Min. age requirements

        • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
        • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the bike tour on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

      If your group has bikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

    • The starting point of your Coimbra to Fátima e-bike tour is Coimbra. To get there, most people fly into Porto Airport. From there, you can take a shuttle service, public transport, or rent a car to reach Coimbra.

      Once you’re there, you will meet your guide at a predetermined time in a predetermined location. More information will be provided by the guides before the start of the trip.
