  • We ride some of the most photographed overlooks in Utah on this up-to-four-hour tour through Dead Horse Point State Park, about 45 minutes from downtown Moab. The route strings together scenic overlook after scenic overlook on beginner-to-intermediate trails, with sweeping views down into the canyon below. It's private, so we shape the pace to your group—if part of the group wants to wrap up early, that's no problem. Since we're private, we can also finish whenever your group is ready, rather than sticking to a fixed clock. Includes bike, helmet, water bottle, snacks, and your guide.

    Duration: Up to 4 hours
Meeting point: Dead Horse Point State Park

    • Included:

        • An experienced MTB guide with extensive local knowledge of the Moab area
        • Up to four hours of private mountain biking at Dead Horse Point State Park or the Moab Brand Trails
        • Full-suspension mountain bike or pedal-assist e-bike
        • Helmet, water bottle, and snacks

      Not included:

        • Transportation to Moab
        • Dead Horse Point State Park entry fee ($25, Dead Horse Point tour only)
        • Anything not mentioned in the “Included” section above
        • Insurance — recommended, available to add at checkout
        • Guide gratuities — optional
    • In order to join this Moab mountain biking tour, good fitness is required, and you should be comfortable pedaling for up to four hours. Even the easier trails require enough fitness to handle some climbing. Since these tours are private, your guide will gauge your group’s skill level after booking and shape the pace and terrain to match.

Weather can add difficulty too—winters (January through April, October through December) run cold, May and June can be windy, and July through September gets extremely hot, so plan your gear accordingly. Want to see what else is there in the area?

    • To book this adventure, all riders, regardless of age or height, must be capable of operating hand brakes and shifting gears. A guide will explain the different mountain bike techniques and body positions to get you feeling comfortable on the trail. You will progress at a level that is consistent with your comfort. Once you finally get the hang of trail riding, you will only want more!

    • You’ll need:

        • Sneakers or athletic shoes
        • Bike shorts or padded tights
        • A riding jersey or t-shirt
        • Breathable outer layer or windbreaker
        • Two pairs of breathable socks
        • Sunglasses
        • Water bottle or hydration bladder
        • Daypack for snacks
        • Biking gloves — optional but recommended
        • Bike repair kit
        • Toiletries (sunscreen, hand sanitizer, bug spray, etc.)

Wear comfortable riding or athletic clothing, preferably moisture wicking or synthetic material. Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season.

    • Group sizes and age requirements:

        • For this adventure, the usual client to guide ratio is 6:1.
        • The cost per person decreases as the group grows, so it’s the perfect opportunity to ride with friends and family!

Mountain biking in Moab can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

      Min. age requirements:

        • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
        • Children as young as 10 are able to go on trips with a legal guardian. That said, if you have a young rider strong enough to handle sustained climbs (either riding or walking their bike) of hundreds of feet, and rough terrain, then they may be able to participate on a case-by-case basis.

If your group has climbers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

    • Most people fly into Canyonlands Regional Airport (CNY) in Moab, UT. Other options include Grand Junction, CO, about a two-hour drive away, or Salt Lake City, UT, about four hours away. From there, you can rent a car or use a local Moab shuttle service to reach the trailhead.

Meeting point depends on which tour you book:

        • Dead Horse Point Private Tour meets at Dead Horse Point State Park, about 45 minutes from downtown Moab.
        • Arches View at the Moab Brand Trails Private Tour meets at the Moab Brand Trails (Bar M), about 10 miles north of downtown Moab.
    • We highly recommend that you cover all your bases with insurance. To make your booking and traveling experience as carefree as possible, you’ll be offered to simply insure your trip with Redpoint at checkout.

Redpoint—the official 57hours insurance partner—tailors protection packages for adventure travel, offering a comprehensive travel program, even in remote locations!
