From March to May, Trolltunga turns into a winter wonderland—its cliffs draped in snow, the air crisp and clear, and the usual crowds nowhere to be found. We’ll trek through a breathtaking alpine landscape and strap on snowshoes and spikes when needed to navigate the terrain. Along the way, our experienced guide will lead us to hidden spots, share stories about the area, and keep us fueled with a hearty Norwegian lunch, hot drinks, and local snacks. At the summit, we’ll take a long break to soak in the views, capture incredible photos, and simply savor the magic of standing on Trolltunga in its most untouched, snow-covered form.

Hiking to Trolltunga involves at least 10 hours of hiking, meaning you’ll need a very good fitness level to join both 1-day and 2-day options. The 2-day hike is a bit easier than the 1-day options, but any ounce of hiking experience will be of great value on Trolltunga’s slippery rocks.
To join the 1-day winter hike, you should also have some experience hiking in the snow and cold weather, as the adventure involves hiking in an exposed and cold mountain area.
The hike to Trolltunga lasts between 10 to 12 hours roundtrip. If the roads are open, you’ll be transferred from Skjeggedal (P2) to Mågelitopp (P3), in which case your hike to Trolltunga and back will be 20 km (12.4 miles). In case the road between P2 and P3 is closed due to snow conditions, you’ll start at P2 and hike 28 km (17.4 miles). This is the route you can expect to take on the 1-day winter hike.
