Cancellation policy

The percentages in the table above are of the full trip price, not of what you’ve paid at the time of booking.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking receive a full refund on all plans, including booking fees and insurance. After the 48-hour window, your refund depends on your selected protection plan and when you cancel. Core and Premium plans extend your cancellation rights beyond the Standard policy:

  • With Core, a covered reason gets you 75% of your trip cost back — even the day before you go.
  • With Premium, a covered reason gets you 100% of your trip cost back — and any other reason gets you 75%, right up to the day you leave.
What counts as a covered reason
  • Sudden illness or injury — yours, a travel companion’s, or an immediate family member’s, confirmed by a doctor
  • Death of a traveler or an immediate family member
  • A natural disaster affecting your destination or your departure point
  • A government travel advisory against travel to your destination

Changing your mind isn’t a covered reason. Premium is the only plan that covers that. Documentation is required for all insurance claims.

Everything the travel insurance covers

Both plans include travel insurance through Redpoint Travel Protection. Core insures 75% of your trip cost; Premium insures 100%.

Maximum per person:

  • Trip cancellation — up to 100% of your trip cost
  • Cancel for any reason — up to 75% of your trip cost (Premium only)
  • Trip interruption — 150% of the trip cost limit
  • Trip delay — $200 a day, $1,000 max
  • Itinerary change — $250
  • Single occupancy supplement — up to 100% of trip cost
  • Missed connection — $1,000
  • Travel inconvenience — $250 each, $750 max
  • Pet return — $1,000 per pet
  • Baggage and personal effects — $2,500, max $300 an item
  • Baggage delay — $600, after 12 hours
  • Baggage delivery — $100 per trip
  • Emergency medical expenses — $100,000
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation — up to $1,000,000

These are maximums. What a claim actually pays depends on what you can document and on the policy’s exclusions — pre-existing conditions and undeclared activities among them. We’ll send the full policy wording with your confirmation.

  • The Tour du Mont Blanc e-bike holiday is a 6-day, e-assisted mountain bike trip through the Alps, riding through Italy, France, and Switzerland on a route that shadows the classic Tour du Mont Blanc hiking circuit. You’ll cover roughly 150 km (93 mi) of singletrack and alpine road across 4 riding days, with close to 4,800 m (15,748 ft) of combined elevation gain, while sleeping in high-end mountain hotels every night—no huts, no camping.

    • Your adventure starts with a scenic transfer from Milan’s Malpensa Airport to Aosta, our base for the first night. Known as the “Rome of the Alps,” Aosta was founded by the Romans in 25 BC, and its arch, theater, and city walls still stand in the middle of everyday life. If you arrive early enough, walk through the old town from the Arch of Augustus to the Roman theater. It’s only ten minutes, with a gelato on the way. Settle in and enjoy dinner at the hotel. Depending on the group, we’ll hold our team briefing and bike handover this evening or the next morning.

      Meals: Dinner
Accommodation: High-end mountain hotel in Aosta

    • After a short morning transfer from Aosta, we start riding in Courmayeur and climb toward the Col de la Seigne (2,517 m / 8,258 ft), the highest point of the tour. This ancient trade and military pass marks the border between Italy and France, with the whole Mont Blanc massif at our shoulder. On the French side, we drop through the Vallée des Glaciers to the hamlet of Les Chapieux. From there, the van takes us to Beaufort, home of one of France’s great Alpine cheeses. It’s our first big day with a long, sustained climb, so pack a warm, windproof layer for the top.

      Elevation: +1,130 m (+3,707 ft) / -1,250 m (-4,101 ft)
      Distance: 29 km (18 mi)
      Meals: Breakfast and dinner
Accommodation: High-end mountain hotel in Beaufort

    • A van transfer from Beaufort takes us back up to Lac de Roselend, a turquoise reservoir created in the 1960s, where we start riding across the high Beaufortain. From the lake, the trail drops to the wild Lac de la Gittaz, then climbs to the Col de la Gittaz (2,297 m / 7,536 ft). After a short van link from Les Contamines to Bionnassay, a final climb over the Col de Voza (1,653 m / 5,423 ft) brings us down into Chamonix, the legendary mountain town at the foot of Mont Blanc and host of the very first Winter Olympics in 1924. Expect the most technical riding of the week and a big descent.

      Elevation: +1,260 m (+4,134 ft) / -2,270 m (-7,448 ft)
      Distance: 39 km (24.2 mi)
      Meals: Breakfast and dinner
Accommodation: High-end mountain hotel in Chamonix

    • Today is the longest and most demanding day of the tour, taking us from France into Switzerland. We climb to the panoramic Col de Balme (2,191 m / 7,188 ft) on the French–Swiss border, where one of the great views of the whole Mont Blanc range opens up behind us. From the col, it’s a long, sweeping drop into the Swiss Valais, with close to 2,000 m (6,562 ft) of descent toward the Rhône valley and Martigny. We’ll take our time on the way down before settling in for the night.

      Elevation: +1,500 m (+4,921 ft) / -2,000 m (-6,562 ft)
      Distance: 43 km (26.7 mi)
      Meals: Breakfast and dinner
Accommodation: High-end mountain hotel in Martigny

    • Our final riding day brings us full circle around Mont Blanc. It opens with a van transfer from Martigny up to the Great St Bernard Pass (2,469 m / 8,100 ft) on the Swiss–Italian border. Monks have kept a hospice here since 1049, their rescue dogs gave the St Bernard its name, and Napoleon marched his army over this pass in 1800. From here, it’s bikes all the way to Aosta. We drop into Italy through Saint-Rhémy-en-Bosses and Étroubles, then follow one of the valley’s centuries-old rus, which are irrigation channels carved along the mountainside. Depending on the group, there’s one last climb before the longest descent of the week. Dinner isn’t included tonight, so the evening is yours.

      Elevation: +900 m (+2,953 ft) / -2,630 m (-8,629 ft)
      Distance: 40 km (24.9 mi)
      Meals: Breakfast
Accommodation: High-end mountain hotel in Aosta

    • Your adventure comes to an end. After one last alpine morning in Aosta, the driver will pick you up at your hotel for the transfer back to Milano Malpensa airport. The exact time depends on your flight and the group.

      Meals: Breakfast

    • Included:

    • This trip is meant for intermediate to advanced riders comfortable riding on narrow singletrack with some rocks and roots, as well as proactively riding most trails. If the corners are too tight or the trail is too technical, you are welcome to walk a few meters, but your guides are happy to help you work on your skills so you can ride them.

You need to be able to ride for multiple days in a row at a moderate pace for several hours each day. You should be able to handle moderately steep climbs of up to 1,000-1,500 m (3,300-4,950 ft) in a day, including some pushing or carrying your bike if required. Also, you need to have prior experience riding at altitudes of +2,000 m (6,560 ft) and understand the effect they have on you.

If this trip sounds too hard for you, you can explore more beginner-friendly bike holidays in the Alps here!

    • Good fit if:

        • You want to ride the Mont Blanc massif’s terrain and see all three countries it touches—Italy, France, and Switzerland—without committing to the multi-week fitness build a fully human-powered TMB circuit demands
        • You’re already an intermediate-to-advanced mountain biker comfortable on singletrack with rocks and roots, and you’ve ridden or hiked at altitude above 2,000 m before
        • You want hotel comfort every night—sauna, jacuzzis, real beds—rather than hut-to-hut simplicity
        • You can commit to 4 consecutive days of real climbing (1,000–1,500 m/day) even with e-assist taking the edge off

This isn’t a beginner e-bike trip, and it isn’t a leisure ride with an e-bike gimmick attached. It’s a real multi-day Alpine mountain-bike circuit where the electric assist changes what’s physically achievable, not what’s technically required.

    • Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

        • Helmet
        • Eye protection
        • Kneepads — optional (but recommended)
        • Day pack large enough to carry all the items listed (around a 25-40L bag)
        • Water bottle or hydration bladder (2L capacity)
        • Comfortable biking shoes
        • Appropriate clothes for layering and 6 days of biking
        • Waterproof rain jacket
        • Sunhat
        • Toiletries (sunscreen, hand sanitizer, bug spray, toilet paper, etc.)
        • Sunglasses
        • Cash in euros and Swiss francs — a few refuges and hotels don’t take cards for small extras
        • Camera — optional (but recommended)

Your guides provide e-bike rentals, you can add it to your booking at checkout.
Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

    • Yes—e-bike rental is available as an add-on at checkout. Model depends on availability, but you can expect Scott, Transition, Flyer, Ghost, or Specialized e-bikes.

    • Group sizes and pricing

        • For this adventure, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 7:1.
        • It takes a minimum of 4 people for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 7 participants.

E-biking in the Mont Blanc area can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

      Min. age requirements

        • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
        • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the tour on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

If your group has bikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

    • To get to the start of your tour, plan to fly into Milan’s Malpensa Airport. From there, a transfer will take you to Aosta, where you’ll spend the first night and meet your guide. This is included in the price, as well as the return transfer to the airport.

    • This trip crosses three countries—Italy, France, and Switzerland—and all three are part of the Schengen Area, so there’s no separate border crossing or visa checkpoint between them if you’re already traveling on a valid Schengen visa or visa-free entry (most nationalities from the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and the EU don’t need a visa for short Schengen stays). What you do need is whatever visa or entry permission gets you into the Schengen Area in the first place, arranged before you fly into Milan. If your nationality requires a Schengen visa, apply through the country where you’ll spend the most time or first enter—for most travelers on this itinerary, that’s Italy. Confirm your specific requirement with your consulate before booking, since rules vary by passport.

    • We highly recommend that you cover all your bases with insurance. To make your booking and traveling experience as carefree as possible, you’ll be offered to simply insure your trip with Redpoint at checkout.

Redpoint—the official 57hours insurance partner—tailors protection packages for adventure travel, offering a comprehensive travel program, even in remote locations! Trip cancellation, natural disasters, pandemic coverage, medical evacuation, primary medical expenses—regardless of the travel interruption that may happen, Redpoint will have you covered.
