  • This tour follows the same Ring Road route as our winter edition, with most stops identical—the key differences are a Brúarfoss waterfall hike and a Glacier Lagoon boat tour (replacing ice caves), puffin watching in Borgarfjörður Eystri (replacing an overnight in Egilsstaðir), and long midnight sun evenings instead of Northern Lights hunts.

Come join our 9-day all-women summer tour follows Iceland's Ring Road from start to finish, connecting the country's most iconic landscapes in one continuous journey! We travel by minibus with a local guide, staying in comfortable hotels each night after days that include a glacier hike on Sólheimajökull, a boat tour through Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, whale watching out of Dalvík, and an evening with the puffins in Borgarfjörður Eystri. All breakfasts are included, along with a welcome dinner, a farewell dinner, and a greenhouse lunch on Day 2. The trip wraps up with a soak at the Blue Lagoon before departure.

    • The Iceland Ring Road adventure starts in Reykjavík. We meet our guide around 5:45 pm at a hotel in downtown Reykjavík (exact location confirmed closer to departure). After a short introduction and overview of what’s ahead, we sit down for a welcome dinner together—an easy, relaxed way to get to know the group before the journey kicks off.

    • We hit the road between 8 and 9 am and head straight into the Golden Circle, Iceland’s most iconic sightseeing loop. First stop is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates visibly pull apart. We continue to the Geysir Geothermal Area, where Strokkur erupts every few minutes, and on to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most powerful waterfalls. From there, we set out on an easy hike to Brúarfoss—a striking blue waterfall fed by glacial meltwater, about 6–7 km (4 mi) round trip with minimal elevation gain. The day ends with a long, well-earned soak at the Secret Lagoon, Iceland’s oldest geothermal pool.

    • Today is Iceland’s South Coast in full swing. We start at Seljalandsfoss, where—conditions permitting—we walk behind the curtain of the waterfall for a one-of-a-kind viewpoint. Then on to Skógafoss, one of Iceland’s largest and most rainbow-prone waterfalls. Next, we gear up for a guided glacier hike on Sólheimajökull, an outlet glacier of Mýrdalsjökull sitting above the Katla volcano—one of the most striking ways to get close to Iceland’s ice. After the glacier, we walk the dramatic black sand beaches before finishing the day at Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, a 2 km-long gorge carved by glacial meltwater with walls of jagged basalt.

    • New day, new natural phenomena. We head to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon for a boat tour among the floating icebergs that have calved off Breiðamerkurjökull glacier—each one a different shape and shade of blue and white, drifting through a landscape unlike anywhere else on Earth. Just across the Ring Road lies Diamond Beach, where chunks of ice wash up and glitter against the black volcanic sand. In the evening, we drive to Höfn, Iceland’s self-declared lobster capital, where dinner options are excellent and the setting is quietly spectacular.

    • This day is dedicated to exploring the remote East Fjords. We drive through small coastal communities, including Djúpivogur, before heading inland for a 6 km hike to Hengifoss—one of Iceland’s tallest waterfalls, dropping into a gorge of red clay layers and basalt columns. In the afternoon, we continue to Borgarfjörður Eystri, a peaceful village surrounded by mountains and fjords. The area is famous for its puffin colonies, and in summer we often see the birds returning to their cliffside nests in the evening. Borgarfjörður Eystri is also known for local folklore and the widespread belief in hidden elves living in the surrounding landscape.

    • We start the day with a drive to Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall, fed by a river flowing from Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. Next up is the Námaskarð Geothermal Area—a Mars-like zone with a vivid palette of colors streaking through the earth. We continue to Lake Mývatn, where walking through the nearby lava fields and the bizarre rock formations of Dimmuborgir will give serious Game of Thrones vibes. Second to last stop is Goðafoss, the “Waterfall of the Gods,” a symbol of Iceland’s conversion from Norse mythology to Christianity. As we reach Akureyri for the night, there’s time to stroll around the city and explore its selection of Icelandic cuisine.

      Accommodation: Hotel in Akureyri

    • We put on warm flotation suits and board a fishing boat in Dalvík—one of Iceland’s best whale watching locations, with a success rate of around 98%. We sail through the fjords for about three hours in search of humpback whales, minke whales, and more. Following the boat ride, we drive through Tröllaskagi (the Troll Peninsula), a beautiful stretch of rugged mountains and fishing villages offering something new at every turn.

    • On day 8, we tour the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in West Iceland—often called “Iceland in Miniature” for how much variety it packs into one stretch of land. We visit Snæfellsjökull Glacier, the ice-capped volcano Jules Verne famously used as the entrance to the center of the Earth. We stop at Kirkjufell, the distinctive arrowhead-shaped mountain recognizable from Game of Thrones, and Kirkjufellsfoss just below it, one of Iceland’s most photographed spots. At Ytri Tunga Beach, we look for seals lounging on the rocks before heading back to Reykjavík for a farewell dinner with the group.

    • On the final day, we visit the Blue Lagoon, Iceland’s most famous geothermal spa, only a 15-minute drive from Keflavík International Airport. We soak in the warm, mineral-rich turquoise water set inside a lava field—the perfect way to end the trip. Transfers are arranged either to the airport or back to Reykjavík, depending on plans.
