Rock Odysseys
  • More time and private instruction will give you the best learning outcomes and an optimal, fuss-free experience of massive sandstones and energizing canyons. During your adventure, you will spend up to 8 hours on the rock. Experience 4-6 rappels of up to 100ft and 3-5 single pitch climbing routes that vary from 30 feet all the way to 100 feet in length. Learn everything you need to know to create an action packed experience that you and your group will remember forever!

    • What you get on this adventure:

        • An experienced, local climbing and canyoning guide with extensive knowledge of the area
        • A half or full day of climbing and canyoning depending on your chosen itinerary
        • Transportation to the trailhead
        • All technical gear

      What’s not included:

        • Transportation before the adventure
        • Snacks
        • Accommodations
    • The best thing about climbing and canyoning in Zion is that there are great options for all skill levels. Your adventure will include rappelling and single-pitch climbs, the number of which can be reduced or increased depending on your skill levels. If you have little or no experience with these activities, your guide will find the best appropriate locations that will get you started with them. The same goes for more advanced climbers and canyoneers—everything can be adjusted to your skill level and desires.

    • Here’s what you’ll need:

        • Daypack large enough to carry all the items listed (25-30 L)
        • 2-3 liters of water
        • Lunch and snacks/energy bars
        • Hiking boots, light hikers, trail-running shoes, or sneakers (with tread) for the approach
        • Hat
        • Sunglasses
        • Toiletries (sunscreen, hand sanitizer, bug spray, toilet paper, etc.)
        • Seasonally appropriate athletic wear (example: wind-breaker, or heavier coat in colder weather)

Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

    • Group sizes and prices:

        • For the group adventures, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 4:1, while the minimum number of people that have to join is 3. The per person cost does not decrease as the group grows.
        • For the private adventures, the client-to-guide ratio is either 1:1, or 2:1. The per-person cost decreases as your group grows.

Climbing and canyoning can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

      Min. age requirements:

        • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
        • These adventures are family-friendly so minors younger than 18 are permitted to join as well.

If your group has hikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

    • To get to Zion National Park, most people fly into Las Vegas McCarran International Airport 2.5 hours away from the park. From there, you can rent a car and take a shuttle service to Springdale, Rockville, Virgin, La Verkin, or Hurricane in Utah. Due to National Park restrictions, all climbing and canyoneering trips are located just outside of Zion National Park.

Once you and your guide agree on the details of your itinerary, they will suggest the best place to meet. Your guide can also pick you up at your accommodation in any of the towns listed in the first paragraph. Alternatively, you can simply meet your guide at a designated recreational site, most often it’s Lambs Knoll.

    • 57hours is committed to providing safe outdoor adventure experiences. We require all guides using our platform to have a COVID-19 safety plan and to make the details of that plan accessible to travelers. In most cases, group sizes will be reduced, guides will avoid overcrowded locations, and other safety measures will be met depending on the location and activity.

We also expect clients to respect local regulations and take measures to protect themselves, their guides, and the communities they’re traveling to. For more information on COVID-19 measures in Zion National Park, Utah, please refer to Utah’s official COVID-19 update website.

Please contact us if you have any questions or require further information. We are happy to provide you with the most up-to-date information!
