  • Deep in the wilderness of New Hampshire, the Pemi Loop makes its way through pristine forests, peaks above the treeline, and spectacular ridges. Your guides organized a three-day trip along this 30-mile trail (up to 35 miles), which offers some of the best views of the White Mountains, and all you’ve got to do is just show up. That’s right, round-trip transportation from the Greater Boston area, group camping equipment, tents and backpacks if you haven’t got them, overnight stays at camps—your guides have got you covered. With no obstacles in the way and plenty of unforgettable hiking through untouched wilderness, this will be a rewarding experience.

    • Start your day at the famous Lincoln Woods trailhead and cross the suspension bridge over the Pemigewasset River—and you’zre on your way! This first day spans 10 miles of terrain, where you will summit Mt. Flume, Mt. Liberty, Little Haystack Mountain, Mt. Lincoln and Mt. Lafayette! This is an incredible day of above-treeline hiking as over 3 miles of your time is spent on Franconia Ridge where you’ll enjoy 360-degree views of the entire White Mountain National Forest! Spend the night at the AMC-managed Greenleaf Hut after a family-style hot dinner, in an indoor shared bunk room with fellow hikers and get the well-deserved, blissful sleep your body will be craving!

      Distance: 13 miles / 21 km

    • Today’s hike is the shortest of the three days totaling 7.5 miles including a brief out-and-back summit of Galehead Mountain once you arrive at the next destination! Leave Greenleaf Hut after a full family-style breakfast is prepared for you by the Hut Cru, and climb back up Lafayette, making your way to the AMC Galehead Hut. This traverse of the Garfield Ridge trail is one of the most strenuous days of above and below treeline hiking, and you will have time to be patient and deliberate as you explore the beautiful forest in between huts. Once you arrive at Galehead Hut, before dinner you can quickly summit Galehead Mountain, where you will get views looking back down at the hut with the surrounding mountains as its backdrop. Experience another peaceful, quiet night’s rest before taking on your longest hiking day of the trip tomorrow!

    • On the final day of the trek you’ll get one of the best views in the entire White Mountain National Forest—the magnificent view off of Bondcliff! There’s really nothing like it, and the effort it takes to get there makes it all the more memorable. You will hike over 14 miles today to wrap up your adventure, with the vast majority of this distance being gradually downhill and flat as you descend below treeline for your last time. Cross meandering streams and ultimately follow the old train trusses back to Lincoln Woods. The downhill hiking will be relaxing and the pace on the flat terrain out to Lincoln Woods can be taken as quickly or slowly as your body wants after two intense days of above treeline exploring!
