Day 1 begins at Catedral Ski Resort, and we’ll use its slopes to warm up. After a few runs on and off-piste, we’ll ascend to the ridge and venture into the backcountry, skiing down into the Van Titter Valley. A long descent through the valley leads us to a climb up to Frey Hut, our cozy mountain lodge where we’ll spend the next three nights.
For those who haven’t skied in a while and need more time to readapt, the guides can dedicate the entire first day to the resort. This allows for a gradual progression from on-piste to off-piste, and then to the side-country, focusing on improving downhill and uphill techniques while testing gear. Only in this case, the traverse to Frey Hut will be postponed to Day 2.
