Cancellation policy

The percentages in the table above are of the full trip price, not of what you’ve paid at the time of booking.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking receive a full refund on all plans, including booking fees and insurance. After the 48-hour window, your refund depends on your selected protection plan and when you cancel. Core and Premium plans extend your cancellation rights beyond the Standard policy:

  • With Core, a covered reason gets you 75% of your trip cost back — even the day before you go.
  • With Premium, a covered reason gets you 100% of your trip cost back — and any other reason gets you 75%, right up to the day you leave.
What counts as a covered reason
  • Sudden illness or injury — yours, a travel companion’s, or an immediate family member’s, confirmed by a doctor
  • Death of a traveler or an immediate family member
  • A natural disaster affecting your destination or your departure point
  • A government travel advisory against travel to your destination

Changing your mind isn’t a covered reason. Premium is the only plan that covers that. Documentation is required for all insurance claims.

Everything the travel insurance covers

Both plans include travel insurance through Redpoint Travel Protection. Core insures 75% of your trip cost; Premium insures 100%.

Maximum per person:

  • Trip cancellation — up to 100% of your trip cost
  • Cancel for any reason — up to 75% of your trip cost (Premium only)
  • Trip interruption — 150% of the trip cost limit
  • Trip delay — $200 a day, $1,000 max
  • Itinerary change — $250
  • Single occupancy supplement — up to 100% of trip cost
  • Missed connection — $1,000
  • Travel inconvenience — $250 each, $750 max
  • Pet return — $1,000 per pet
  • Baggage and personal effects — $2,500, max $300 an item
  • Baggage delay — $600, after 12 hours
  • Baggage delivery — $100 per trip
  • Emergency medical expenses — $100,000
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation — up to $1,000,000

These are maximums. What a claim actually pays depends on what you can document and on the policy’s exclusions — pre-existing conditions and undeclared activities among them. We’ll send the full policy wording with your confirmation.

  • Some ski trips are about the turns. Others are about the journey. This one? It’s both. We’ll start at Catedral Ski Resort, then venture deep into the Patagonian backcountry, where jagged spires and untouched snow create a skier’s paradise. Three nights at Frey Hut mean prime access to some of the best ski terrain in South America—steep chutes, wide-open bowls, and deep powder stashes. With expert guides, top-tier terrain, and an experience that’s as rewarding as the skiing itself, this is the ultimate winter escape for those who love earning their turns.

    • Day 1 begins at Catedral Ski Resort, and we’ll use its slopes to warm up. After a few runs on and off-piste, we’ll ascend to the ridge and venture into the backcountry, skiing down into the Van Titter Valley. A long descent through the valley leads us to a climb up to Frey Hut, our cozy mountain lodge where we’ll spend the next three nights.

For those who haven’t skied in a while and need more time to readapt, the guides can dedicate the entire first day to the resort. This allows for a gradual progression from on-piste to off-piste, and then to the side-country, focusing on improving downhill and uphill techniques while testing gear. Only in this case, the traverse to Frey Hut will be postponed to Day 2.

      Meals: Lunch, dinner
      Accommodation: Frey Hut

      Skier near Frey Hut
    • Frey is one of the most iconic areas in North Patagonia, known for its granite spires, steep couloirs, and alpine terrain. Over these two days, we’ll explore the surrounding area, seeking the best snow conditions. Runs range between 400-600 m (1,312-1,968 ft), with each day typically including 3 to 4 runs, depending on their length and the approach distance from the hut.

      Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
      Accommodation: Frey Hut

      People climbing in snow
    • On our final day, if energy permits, we can enjoy an early morning ski in the Frey area. Then, we’ll ascend and cross the ridge that leads back to Catedral Ski Resort, concluding the trip with a rewarding ski down to the car.

      Meals: Breakfast

      Skier on a sunny day
    • Please note that days might be different than mentioned, depending on snow and weather conditions. There is flexibility to adjust the itinerary based on group energy, snow conditions, and individual preferences, allowing for shorter days or additional runs if conditions permit.

        • 4-day Patagonia ski touring adventure

        • Accommodation: 3 nights in Frey Hut
        • Ticket to access the mountain via Catedral Ski Resort
        • Transfer to and from trailhead to your hotel

    • This tour is designed for individuals in excellent physical condition, capable of skiing upwards of 800 m (2,624 ft) per day and covering distances of up to 6 km (3.7 mi) on longer days. In terms of terrain, the options range from gentle, open slopes to steep, challenging couloirs, allowing each day’s itinerary to be tailored to the group’s skills, fitness level, and objectives.

However, backcountry skiing requires advanced technical proficiency in skiing or snowboarding. Participants must be able to descend confidently in all snow conditions, including deep powder, hardpack, or crusty snow.

Each day is action-packed, typically lasting between 6 to 8 hours and covering 800 to 1,200 m (2,624 to 3,937 ft) of elevation gain. However, there is flexibility to adjust the itinerary based on group energy, snow conditions, and individual preferences, allowing for shorter days or additional runs as conditions permit.
