  • This Lofoten Islands hiking tour takes a small group through seven days of the archipelago's most celebrated terrain. We hike Fløya above Svolvær, steep Festvågtinden above Henningsvær, and the unforgettable Ryten where the view over Kvalvika beach from the summit is worth every step of the climb. The trip culminates on Reinebringen, the most iconic viewpoint in Lofoten, with the fjords of Reine laid out below. In between, we explore Nusfjord's ancient fishing village and some of Norway's most beautiful beaches, ending each day at a handpicked coastal stay with a long dinner and, more often than not, an Arctic sky that still hasn't decided to go dark.

    • We meet at Harstad/Narvik Airport (Evenes) and drive together into Lofoten. The scenery starts almost immediately, with mountains rising straight out of the sea before we’ve even arrived at the islands. We settle into our first coastal stay, get our bearings, and ease into the week ahead over a light dinner.

      Meals: Dinner
      Accommodation: Boutique coastal hotel

Hikers watching the sunset in Lofoten
    • We kick off the hiking with an ascent of Fløya, one of the finest viewpoints in the Lofoten archipelago – a short, steady climb rewarded with sweeping views over Svolvær’s jagged peaks and the surrounding islands. After the hike, we slow the pace: a proper local meal, a wander through Svolvær’s harbour and small shops, and a first good dose of that very particular Lofoten atmosphere.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Hiking: 3.5 hrs, 4.5 km (2.8 mi)
      Elevation: +580 m (+1,900 ft)
      Accommodation: Boutique coastal hotel

      Lofoten aerial shot
    • We head to Henningsvær, one of the most charming fishing villages in Lofoten, built across a cluster of small islands connected by narrow bridges – and hike Festvågtinden, a short but steep trail that earns you far-reaching views across the archipelago and open sea. After the descent, we wander the village, sit down to dinner, and let it all sink in.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Hiking: 3 hrs, 2.6 km (1.6 mi)
      Elevation: +500 m (+1,640 ft)
      Accommodation: Boutique coastal hotel

      Lofoten wide panorama
    • A fuller day with two hikes and two of the most beautiful beaches in Norway in between. We start with Offersøykammen, a short, panoramic climb above the coast, and then drive to Haukland and Uttakleiv for the Mannen ascent, a more relaxed but equally rewarding hike with sweeping coastal scenery. A meal at a local restaurant and a moment on the sand round out a day with a bit of everything.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
Hiking (Offersøykammen): 3 hrs, 4 km (2.5 mi)
      Elevation (Offersøykammen): +430 m (+1,410 ft)
Hiking (Mannen): 3 hrs, 5 km (3.1 mi)
      Elevation (Mannen): +370 m (+1,210 ft)
      Accommodation: Seaside resort

Hiker on a rock on a beach in Norrway
    • One of the highlights of the trip. We hike to the remote and strikingly wild Kvalvika beach, then push up to Ryten – where you get the view: that perfect bird’s-eye perspective over the beach that has defined countless Lofoten photographs. It’s a longer day, but the combination of mountains and wild coastline makes it something else. Later, we visit Nusfjord, one of the oldest and best-preserved fishing villages in Norway, a place that gives a real sense of the islands’ history and way of life.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Hiking: 5 hrs, 10 km (6.2 mi)
      Elevation: +800 m (+2,625 ft)
      Accommodation: Seaside resort

Sitting on a ledge in Lofoten
    • We close the hiking in style. Reinebringen – the most iconic viewpoint in Lofoten – is reached via a steep stone staircase, and the view from the top over Reine and the surrounding fjords is everything the photos promise. After a meal in the nearby village of Sakrisøy and some time exploring the area, we begin the long drive back toward Evenes and check in near the airport for an early start the next morning.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Hiking: 3 hrs, 6 km (3.7 mi)
      Elevation: +520 m (+1,706 ft)
Accommodation: Comfy hotel near the airport

      Lofoten panorama
    • After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to Harstad/Narvik Airport for onward travel. Staying near the airport on the last night is a practical precaution: road closures and weather-related delays are not uncommon in this part of Norway, and it keeps the morning relaxed and the departure stress-free.

      Meals: Breakfast
