Cancellation policy

The percentages in the table above are of the full trip price, not of what you’ve paid at the time of booking.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking receive a full refund on all plans, including booking fees and insurance. After the 48-hour window, your refund depends on your selected protection plan and when you cancel. Core and Premium plans extend your cancellation rights beyond the Standard policy:

  • With Core, a covered reason gets you 75% of your trip cost back — even the day before you go.
  • With Premium, a covered reason gets you 100% of your trip cost back — and any other reason gets you 75%, right up to the day you leave.
What counts as a covered reason
  • Sudden illness or injury — yours, a travel companion’s, or an immediate family member’s, confirmed by a doctor
  • Death of a traveler or an immediate family member
  • A natural disaster affecting your destination or your departure point
  • A government travel advisory against travel to your destination

Changing your mind isn’t a covered reason. Premium is the only plan that covers that. Documentation is required for all insurance claims.

Everything the travel insurance covers

Both plans include travel insurance through Redpoint Travel Protection. Core insures 75% of your trip cost; Premium insures 100%.

Maximum per person:

  • Trip cancellation — up to 100% of your trip cost
  • Cancel for any reason — up to 75% of your trip cost (Premium only)
  • Trip interruption — 150% of the trip cost limit
  • Trip delay — $200 a day, $1,000 max
  • Itinerary change — $250
  • Single occupancy supplement — up to 100% of trip cost
  • Missed connection — $1,000
  • Travel inconvenience — $250 each, $750 max
  • Pet return — $1,000 per pet
  • Baggage and personal effects — $2,500, max $300 an item
  • Baggage delay — $600, after 12 hours
  • Baggage delivery — $100 per trip
  • Emergency medical expenses — $100,000
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation — up to $1,000,000

These are maximums. What a claim actually pays depends on what you can document and on the policy’s exclusions — pre-existing conditions and undeclared activities among them. We’ll send the full policy wording with your confirmation.

  • This 8-day guided hiking tour covers the Lofoten Islands from Reine in the west to Henningsvær in the east. Over six days of hiking, we follow coastal paths and climb steep, rocky summits, including Reinebringen, Ryten, Himmeltinden, and Festvågtind. Many of the routes are off trail, so experience on rough mountain terrain is a must. We stay in three bases along the way: Moskenes, Napp, and Kabelvåg. You’ll only carry a small daypack, since your luggage moves ahead and is waiting for you each evening. All meals are included from dinner on Day 1 to lunch on Day 8, along with boat, ferry, and minibus transfers throughout the trip.

    • Arrive in Bodø and meet your guide and group at the train station in the afternoon. We board a scenic 3.5-hour ferry crossing to the Lofoten Islands—if the weather plays along, the views of jagged peaks rising from the ocean are a highlight in themselves. After arriving in Moskenes, we share our first Norwegian dinner and get settled into our accommodation for the night.

      Meals: Dinner
      Accommodation: Moskenes apartments/private rooms

Arrival in Bodø and ferry to Lofoten — Hiking in Lofoten Islands | Norway
    • We start with a boat ride across the islands to the head of our hike, then take a coastal path over a small pass to reach the wild sands of Bunes Beach. There’s plenty of time to explore, picnic, and capture the Arctic beauty on camera before shuttling back by boat. In the afternoon, we drive to the iconic Reinebringen trail—a short but steep route to the classic viewpoint over Lofoten’s fjords and islands. After the climb, we relax back at our cabins before another group dinner in Moskenes.

      Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
      Distance: 6.8 km (4.2 mi)
      Elevation: +500 m (+1,640 ft) / -500 m (-1,640 ft)
      Accommodation: Moskenes apartments/private rooms

Bunes Beach and Reinebringen hike — Hiking in Lofoten Islands | Norway
    • Today’s adventure begins with a hike through quiet valleys to the remote, golden sands of Kvalvika Beach—then, the route turns skyward, climbing up to the summit of Ryten for the classic postcard views. Lunch happens either at the summit or the shoreline depending on the weather and group energy. We then transfer to Napp and settle into our fishermen’s cabins on the waterfront, with the chance for a sauna and a fresh dinner in Leknes to end the day.

      Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
      Distance: 8 km (5 mi)
      Elevation: +550 m (+1,804 ft) / -550 m (-1,804 ft)
      Accommodation: Fishermen’s cabins, Napp

Kvalvika Beach and Ryten summit — Hiking in Lofoten Islands | Norway
    • We transfer to the foot of Himmeltinden, one of the highest peaks in the Lofoten Islands. It’s a demanding ascent, but the ridgeline and wide-open panoramas across land and sea reward every step. After summiting, we return to Napp for showers, dinner in Leknes, and time to soak in the sauna by the fjords if the mood strikes.

      Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
      Distance: 8 km (5 mi)
      Elevation: +930 m (+3,051 ft) / -930 m (-3,051 ft)

Himmeltinden's heights — Hiking in Lofoten Islands | Norway
    • A short drive brings us to Slydalen and today’s path, winding past old farms to the blue summit of Blatinden. From the top, the landscape stretches out—peaks, fjords, and sky in every direction. After our descent, we drive back to our cabins for a shared meal and stories from the day’s journey.

      Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
      Distance: 5.5 km (3.4 mi)
      Elevation: +450 m (+1,476 ft) / -450 m (-1,476 ft)
      Accommodation: Fishermen’s cabins, Napp

Blatinden summit and more sea views — Hiking in Lofoten Islands | Norway
    • After breakfast, we drive north to the base of Kleppstadheia. The trail takes us up from sea level to panoramic overlooks, with lunch at the intersection of mountains and ocean. After the hike, we transfer to our next lodging: a hotel in Kabelvåg where a spa and sauna help you recover, and dinner is just a short stroll to a favourite local spot.

      Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
      Distance: 7 km (4.3 mi)
      Elevation: +700 m (+2,297 ft) / -700 m (-2,297 ft)
Accommodation: Hotel in Kabelvåg (shared bathrooms)

    • We kick off with a short but steep trek up Festvågtind—one of Lofoten’s steepest and most-photographed peaks—for sweeping views over the islands and the Norwegian Sea. Lunch is atop the summit if the weather is kind, followed by a visit to the colourful fishing village of Henningsvær. There’s free time for coffee and exploring quirky shops before a cozy final dinner together.

      Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
      Distance: 3 km (1.9 mi)
      Elevation: +530 m (+1,739 ft) / -530 m (-1,739 ft)

    • We take it slow on our last morning—one final breakfast then a transfer to Moskenes for the ferry ride back to Bodø. Watch the dramatic landscape slip away and say goodbye to Lofoten’s sharp peaks. We reach Bodø train station by about 3:30 pm, where the journey finishes.

Should you need to make any changes to your booking after confirmation, please be aware that a €50 administrative fee applies to each modification.

Please note that occasionally, the itinerary needs adjusting—usually due to logistics like fully booked accommodations, trail closures, or bad weather. Any changes are always made with your safety and comfort in mind.

Accommodation can shift too, though rarely, depending on availability. If an alternate accommodation is used for a given night, it’ll always be in the same star range as advertised.

    • In order to join this Lofoten hiking tour, great fitness is required as well as experience hiking in mountainous terrain. The most you’ll hike within a day is up to 8 km (5 mi), with up to 930 m (3,051 ft) of elevation gain.

Don’t judge this trip by its distances alone. Northern Norway sees few hikers, so there are few established trails. Many hikes go off trail across rough, rocky ground, where dense vegetation can hide the uneven surface. The weather is changeable too. Even in the middle of August, temperatures can drop from 15°C (59°F) to 5°C (41°F), and rain and wind can make progress slower. You’ll only carry a small daypack, since your luggage is transferred to each accommodation.
