  • Trolltunga is a majestic adventure to embark on! Experience Trolltunga’s sunset and sunrise from a camp 1200 meters above sea level. Enjoy two days of hiking and discover local food and nature with experienced guides! Discover the original Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), a stunning cliff that’s almost forgotten, but as magical as the more famous Trolltunga. Try out traditional Norwegian food as you relax around the campfire and spend a night in a beautiful campsite.

    • Your hiking adventure begins at 11.30 am at the Skjeggedal parking lot. Your guiding service will transport you from there up the Mågeli Road and you’ll follow the trail all the way up to Gryteskar. Here you’ll witness incredible views of Folgefonna Glacier. You’ll get to enjoy a classic Norwegian mountain lunch and, depending on the pace, you should reach the cliff around 5 pm.
The camp you’ll be staying at is a short walk from the Trolltunga cliff, allowing you to make your way back there at the sunset. Revel in a famous reindeer stew in the evening and get some well-deserved rest while having tea, coffee, or chocolate. For an extra good night’s sleep, you can go for a refreshing swim in a secret pond. Although it is cold, people don’t mind it.

    • After waking up early in the morning, you’ll have a delicious breakfast and some coffee or tea. Head back to Trolltunga and start your way back to civilization. Expect to be back at the parking lot between 1 and 3 pm, depending on the pace of the group and weather conditions.

    • What you get on this adventure:

        • A professional, experienced guide carrying safety- and first-aid equipment
        • 1 or 2 days of hiking, depending on your chosen itinerary
        • Detours to hidden gems along the way to Trolltunga
        • Transport from P2 Skjeggedal to P3 Mågelitopp and back down (in case the road is closed between P2 and P3 in May and October due to snow, the hike starts at Skjeggedal)
        • Additionally, if you choose the 1-day Trolltunga hike, you get:
          • Local Norwegian lunch, hot drinks & local surprises (vegetarian and vegan options available — let us know in time)
        • If you choose the 2-day Trolltunga hike, you also get:
          • Unlimited time on Trolltunga
          • 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, 1 dinner, hot drinks as well as some local surprises (vegetarian and vegan options available — let us know in time)
          • Private tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping mat
          • Evening swim (when weather allows it)

      What’s not included:

        • Backpack and hiking poles (can be rented)
        • Transportation to and from Norway
        • Accommodation before and after the trip
    • The actual hike to Trolltunga lasts between 10 to 12 hours roundtrip. If the roads are open, you’ll get transferred from P2 in Skjeggedal to Måglietopp (P3), in which case, the hike to Trolltunga and back is 20 km (12.4 miles). In case the road between P2 and P3 is closed due to snow, you’ll need to start your hike at P3, making it a 28-kilometer hike (17.4 miles).

Regardless of which option you choose—the 1-day or the 2-day tour—keep in mind that hiking to Trolltunga still means at least 10 hours of hiking. The 1-day tour requires a very good physical condition, while the overnight hike is a bit easier. Any ounce of hiking experience will be of great value on Trolltunga’s slippery rocks.
